I mean ofc that can happen but also people can be shut out of the challenge. I was hit by a participant of the 0cs duel and we had no rules against that. point is if you start a war with another dueler you are very unlikely to win, either that or you would have won anyway.

Defending against RoRs is a common problem in express. I always jump my defence after retalling anyone, because its almost certain that he will not accept the retal which forces me to screw over my reset for him, so I save us both trouble and buy up. I cant do that with tyr casher :(

Another thought I had, and maybe to a large degree my fault for my suggestion earlier: We should have done tech starts and instead have very strict rules like for instance a that the last turn of teching has to be done on thursday(or perhaps even wednesday) or something like that and that we still had to be tyrannies for the tech phase.

That would have saved us all a lot of effort, inflated our NWs by quite a bit and we would still have to be tyr casher for 60%+ of the reset and specifically the end of the reset. We would also be less vulnerable to people who wants to bother us and we would not help inflate the techers NWs so much. Win Win Win. But alas I didn't really forsee that it would be so damned long to get techs up. I mean I spent like 700 turns mostly buying tech every other turn or so which was a pain. :(

yeah I got grabbed some too. I made sure to grab most land late in one go and then buy defence til I was up in the t10 after that, it worked.

I have spied several of the people that grabbed me, they didn't look like they knew what they were doing so I'm going to assume they did not specifically target me for being in the challenge(my number was not posted). Also my spal was really high at those points so I am not sure if anyone even got an op on me in the end. All hits were massive oversends.

I was cashing out at near 9m per turn just now. If all goes well I might break 20m. I felt really sad about being farmed by some rainbows and not retalling because I don't have the income to buy myself safe from them.

Looking at the challengers I think it's a bit sad that so many seemed to get into wars. Not only because of the competition but also because it must be hell on EE to fight a war with a tyr casher against someone.

I think if we have another challenge it would be good to keep the names within the contestants only.

I would say that the two challenges we have had have been very well defined and that I think is necessary.
This particular challenge was quite strenuous for me at least.

This is totally epic suggestion actually. That would even remove the need for GDI on express and primary if done harshly enough (its not unreasonable to remove 100% of damage if someone that the target has not hit strikes with missiles).

It would take some work to come up with the formulas that would fit each server though.

Also does it need to be tag based in alliance? I could see this working on individual C:C basis even on alliance with formal declaration (by a tag) removing all penalties but give the defender 24 hour notice and pre-strike chance perhaps.

DancingBear what he means is that your forces work at 70% of effectiveness at 70% and lower readiness. Demoralize ops caps at like 9% or 10% readiness but that takes a whole load of ops and dont drop the break past the 7th op.

A very small buff to it would be if it removed 3% readiness all the time and not 2% of current readiness..

now it takes like 20 hits to get a target to 70% readiness and like 65 hits to get it to 25%. with that change it would take 10 hits to get to 70% and 25 hits and 33 hits to get to 25% and 1% readiness respectively.

you could potentially start a KR with EMs on a high spal target and you could reduce the hits from the enemies breakers by removing their readiness. It wont be overpowered but significantly more powerful than today.

What I meant was that to do full damage with a nuke you gotta have equal acres or higher than the target, same for chems but with Civs and buildings. That would make it more important in war to build a proper country. And big cashers would be more or less immune to chem kill so you would perhaps see more cashers again in war which would be nice.

It makes sense that the bigger country can make the bigger nuke. Look at north korea and their tiny little nukes that can barely generate a registerable earthquake. Then compare to Soviet Union who made the Tsar Bomba, with a shockwave that could be felt 3 times as it went round the earth.

As a clarification I dont disagree with the mechanic necessarily but with the way they are balanced.

I do think the nuke should be cut to destroy a percentage of attackers land or defenders land whichever is lower and the same should be done for chems on civs and buildings. Cruise are used to soften ppls SDIs as often as they are used for their actual effect lol, that goes to show that they are often not all that powerful.

I dont know, the standard for top guys is to end up with like 4-5.5b bushels. you sacrifice about 100-150m NW which is about 1-2 ranks and you get a hired gun on express for 8-9 sets(because it has to last a whole alliance set, right?). I think it's fair. Cheating but fair. :P

Rofl why is killing different than pancaking? your set is over anyway. When the kill is done you at least have the ability to walk away since GDI protects you BOTH, while ABing just starts a war that lasts to the end of the set (and is likely won by the guy who could have killed you anyway)

what does it matter at the end of the set if your country was killed and you restarted or you got owned in war without dying?
And if it matters that much to you why did you double-tap a player? And why did you not wall? yes you are unkillable in express if you wall unless there are several attackers, which is cheating. So if you die, it's your own fault on two counts.

When pressing the "Make peace" ingame I get sent to portal and have to go back into the specific server and dec peace again(which usually works). I don't think it happens every time but it has happened to me enough times that I can say it will happen again very soon.

I am on regular web version when it happens and if I am not mistaken it happens (perhaps only) when attempting to declare peace in the same page as the attack news from a previous attack is located(tho Im guessing at this point).

I took a look at your news this set DS. You decided to play with a bot name without GDI and you got ABed by a guy who, to Eberts detriment, were ABing bots all set. To me it looks like the guy was targeting bots(putting them in DR and removing their purchasing power) and since Ebert hits bots and sells tech to bots that guy was hurting Eberts chances at a good NW. You have concluded that Ebert must be to blame for the ABs.

Your reasoning reminds me of a great story about two scientists and their experiments on houseflies: The two scientists trained a bunch of flies(methodology unknown) so that when they hit the table the fly would jump and fly around for a few seconds and then land on the table again. They then proceeded with one fly and ripped off its front legs and hit the table, and with some effort at the start the fly lifted and flew for a few seconds and landed with some effort in about the same manner as before. They took the second fly and ripped off its middle legs and in the same manner the fly flew on command and landed as it had before. They took the third fly and ripped off its back legs and the result was ofc the same. Everyone can attack everyone, but the targeting by a group against a player or a group of players is detrimental to the game and is collusion at best.

The best way imo to is to make the rule that you are tyr from turn 1 and the best way to ensure everyone does that is that they switch tyranny and then wait 5-10 minutes before taking another action. that way eestats will update their govt change and you will have proof that you switched before taking a turn.

II think any rule that we can control adherence to without spy ops is a good one imo so I'd be for this.

I also kill over multi-taps all the time. I don't have a policy for it but if you multi-tap me anything goes and it's clear to me that if you make that choice you should not be the one who decides the consequences. Whats up with that? You have completely lost scope of the idea of retals.

KoH says it well. If you get double-tapped you have to escalate or you just leave the 'FS' to the enemy. I get fatter than these guys at less turns taken every reset I try through only hitting bots, so its clearly not land they are after. Personally I think having a policy removes my options, therefore I dont. I dont have any reason to handcuff myself that way.
