Something else I'd like to add to my inquiry:

I am drawing these numbers based off the presumption that the normal base ghost acreage is roughly LandGrabbed*.55 for Dict, and LandGrabbed*.41 for all others, which is consistent with the Dict GA bonus (.41*1.33=~.55). I got these numbers by looking at hits that other countries made towards the beginning of landtrading on countries that had never been hit so that DR would not be a factor. Since I came to these two numbers independently and they were consistent with the Dict bonus, I assumed they were correct. I did notice however that ghost acres could go above .55 for Dict, in some cases as high as .57, and I ccouldn't account for the variation.

So if the formula for how ghost acres are calculated in the first place, in addition to the GA DR Multiplier, could be explained to me, I would appreciate that as well.

Unless this is a bug, which is of course why I posted this here, and totally not because I didn't know where else to put it :)

I know the exact post you are referring to, and when I tried plugging in the numbers, the DR_MULTIPLIER never even hit .9. My ghost acres multiplier for several attacks in the above scenario is around .65-.7, and actually doesn't appear to be affected by oversending, though I only did that once and the result was virtually identical. Further, my raw acres grabbed has been literally and completely unaffected, as I'm able to predict that with 98+% certainty when boxcar identifies DR as <=1 (possibly 2, haven't checked that), assuming 95% perfect NW match which as per the forums is .068*TargetLand*MilStrat(*GovBonus for Tyranny, though I haven't tested that).

So it seems that the DR formula is different for raw acres grabbed and ghost acres. Which is why I'm inquiring here. Or I'm making some other simple mistake, but what you suggested doesn't really clear up my problem as far as I can tell. Maybe you/someone could be more specific?

On alliance, I've been seeing consistently low ghost acres for countries where I thought they would be just coming out of their third hit in the past 24 hours, meaning ghost acres should be multiplied by 1. My current understanding of ghost DR is as follows (And I have not for the life of me been able to find any information to the contrary): The amount of hits in the past 24 hours corresponds to the following ghost DR multiplier: 1 1 1 .8 .8 etc.

However, I've made multiple hits on countries that were supposed to have just come out of ghost DR (having 2 hits or less in the past 24 hours), which judging from the returns clearly still had diminished ghost acres. For example, I had a target country which had 3 hits on it in the past 24 hours, so I waited until just enough time had passed so that it then only had 2 hits on it in the previous 24 hours, which should have meant full ghost acres. Instead, I have seen multiple times where this exact scenario resulted in .7-.8 times as many ghost acres.

I can provide several specific example of this if requested.

So I'm thinking that Ghost DR has been changed to a curve like I know normal DR was, but I can't find any information that says this in the forums or anywhere else. So is there any way that we could get the new formula for Ghost DR returns? Or is this truly a bug?

TL;DR: Ghost acres are not returning what should be expected according to my understanding of ghost DR. Any chance we can get a formula for it?

Not really. You can test on your own in alphaffa, which I have done. 98.9% you'll have one get through every 20-200 missiles.

EDIT: I just tested this myself, launched 300 missiles, 7 got through. Clearly a conspiracy.

I'm close to $4M NW, and I was able to (accidentally) attack a country around $500K NW on a mistyped attack. Now he trying to spy on me at $800K NW. Shouldn't GDI have prevented all of this?

I've got 350k spies and counting. If you have anything even respectable, PM me. Please don't even inquire if you're not up to 6 digits by now, I'm looking to upgrade.

I guess I thought this only kicked in after a certain amount of bushels was reached. Oops!

Thanks for the explanation, Xin.

But Xinhuan, even with 0 bushels on hand, I am still getting less than expected. Is this really how it's supposed to work?

If someone has the food decay formula, I'd really appreciate it...

Here is from FFA:

^^ Even with 0 bushels on hand, I am getting less than expected from one turn.

Here is my full advisor: http://i.imgur.com/W98y9nD.png

Here, I run 5 turns and if you do the math, you can see it is short: http://i.imgur.com/bSyBgFJ.png

So every 3 turns I've got to put them on the market? Really?

On FFA I had ~100-200k bushels on hand for most accounts, and they were still short. ALL of them.

What is the formula for decay?

EDIT: So I've now confirmed what Marshal said. Every ~500,000 bushels on hand means ~500 less bushels produced per turn, even if you have 50,000 on hand, you will produce 50 less.

Is this really how decay is supposed to work? I thought it was beyond a certain threshold that things start to decay, like with cash. Money doesn't decay all the time, only over 2 billion dollars.

At least I think so?

I'm producing 125 spies per turn, hardly enough to make up a 45,000 PER TURN bushel shortfall.

I'll also add that my FFA countries produce no military whatsoever per turn.

I forgot to say, the picture is from the Alliance server. This is also happening on all my countries in FFA, but the percentage it's off by varies between 5-20%. It's always less than expected, never more.

The only server I have a country on where this isn't happening in the Tournament server.

As you can see, I should be getting 520,000 bushels per turn, but I am instead getting 475,000 bushels each turn, almost 10% less than expected.

I had this happen on 126 turns of cashing yesterday, and it's still there.

I was doing exactly what eddie is suggesting (coincidentally my name is also Eddie lol). I was stalking the market page and buying up anything below my own sell price, and I had about 2 bil cash on hand to work with. I ended up making a few hundred million in a couple of hours.

Well I just made another jump and now we're an even larger 9M ahead of the next biggest team, and 20M of the next next biggest team. =D

Honestly, I'm really surprised I've still got a decent rank; I'm a ~15k acre casher, I've lost about 100 turns this set to not being able to play frequently enough, and I still have 120 turns stored.

gregg, you're wrong on your last post. Mortcus made a lot of attacks, as you can see here: http://eestats.com/express/oldcountry/90/10

In fact I was one of his first victims; and by my math, he attacked for 5,379 acres last reset.

And only 2 out of the top 10 players (in express) haven't made an attack as of now.

I'd say all in all, attacking for land is a sure way to get ahead in the game overall right now. It's all about target selection.

I played thedopeman and came in at #12. Shoulda been a little bit higher, but some retard nuked away 2000 or so acres just before i was gonna run my last 100 or so turns (running rep casher).

Oh well, still my highest NW/highest rank yet; My whole earth experience is roughly 4 rounds of express.
