a person at 20,000 acres and 260k troops = not worth attacking? I would PS you 5 times everyday.

13 troops per acre on 20k acres is 260k troops so not that much and on 100k country its 1.3m which is quite much.

I would PS you 5 times everyday too.

Right. What about 1.02M Troops for that same 20k? (34 troops/acre*1.5PS defense)

I've been crunching some numbers - and I could be way off here, that's mostly why I'm posting - and came to the conclusion that before tech and oil prices are considered, any opponent with a 13 troop/acre defense or greater, is not worth attacking. Even with max tech considered, still excluding oil, 34 troops/acre should be enough to deter anyone from attacking with gains in mind.

no tech equation

x=dL*lV*.03/2/1.1/.1/tV

where X yields the minimum defense a country needs before the military costs the attacking country must spend outweighs the land gains they will make from the attack in NW terms
dL is the defending country's total land
lV is a constant (weighted: land value/NW - upkeep*number of maximum turns in Primary Server)
.03 is the 3% land gained from the attack
2 is the amount of turns spent on the attack
1.1 is the amount of attacking power needed in relation to the defending country's defense
.1 is the assumed number of losses to the attacking country
and tV is another constant (weighted: troop value/NW-upkeep*number of maximum turns in Primary Server)
lV/tV ~ 93

x/dL=12.7

Is this right?

Erring on the side of more as opposed to less, I found through my own short experiment that it's roughly 10% to 11% of the forces used for the offense. Sound close?

How does the game determine how many units are lost by each side? (negate tech, please)

Sorry, I don't follow how 75 troops would break 50 turrets.

My highest finish in the history of playing the game (off and on for 15 years, now!). 52nd. I really thought I was going to be in the top 50 -selling and buying as fast as I could and cursing this slow internet.

So is a turret defense against 2 troops in PS and SS? The only time it makes a difference what types of military one has is in specialty attacks?

51 troops attacking 50 turrets (with 0 troops and tanks) in PS would be a victory for the attacker?

I'm trying to get a feel for strategy with PS and wrap my head around top, middle and bottom feeding.

Assuming technology is exactly the same between the two countries, is it just army vs army? Or 1.5army vs army when PS?

I couldn't find it in the wiki, but I seem to remember there being a attacking or defending bonus depending on the size of the two countries.

Anyone have formulas or general pointers to share?

That is for the military upkeep formula?

Hey all. I've played Earth 2025 and Earth Empires off and on since 1999. I was never any good at it, but it has always fascinated me.

Anyway, I'm trying to get better at the game and have been reading the wiki trying to gather more useful information. I've been working with the formulas on the game formula page http://wiki.earthempires.com/index.php/Game_formulas

My first assumption is that the net-worth formula
NW=(Troops * 0.5) + (Jets * 0.6) + (Turrets * 0.6) + (Tanks * 2) + (Spies * 1) + (Tech * 2) + (Land * 45) + (Buildings * 35) + (Money / 20000) + (Food/1000) + (Missles * 2500) + (Pop/6) + (Oil/100)
is true. Can anyone confirm or correct this?

My next assumption is that a 1 to 1 chart can be made between any two items.

Example 1: an equal net-worth trade off would be $10,000 for one troop (.5*20,000) A troop purchased for less than $10,000 would be better for the net-worth than the cash used to purchase it.

Example 2: an equal net-worth trade off would be 70 Troops for 1 building (35/.5) Selling 70 or less troops on the public market for the price of one building as a Democracy would be a victory for the net-worth.

Does someone have a more accurate military upkeep formula or know where to find it? The wiki has it listed as
((Troops * .11) + (Jets * .14) + (Turrets * .18) + (Tanks * .57) + Spies) * MilTech% * (1 + Networth/40000000) * GvtBonus * MilBaseFactor

I assume a lot of those formulas on the wiki are wrong. Does anyone have updated information?
