I played the random games and they only had about 400 players the sets I won. One of those wins WAS last millennium.

It's still funny to me that I cost myself a win one set by destroying all my buildings and dropping all my land. I thought I could lower my private market prices but ended up making my market disappear... finished third on 1k land.

well back then you actually could lower your pm prices by dropping land, couldn't you?
or was it just pm prices correlated to %mb's built on land, so it was worth it to stock on big land, then drop land to 1k, build mb's, and jump from there on pm?

i'm pretty sure ichi did that and won 1a and 1b and a few other people had success with it as well. ronnie won 1a once on 1k acres i think.

you went all MB on the 1000 acres or not even any mb??

I'm sure I made them MB but your market size is determined by your land right? And the market shrinks immediately upon dropping the empty acres. I didn't know it would wipe out my market like that. So when I went to spend my stock my market had like nothing in it...

pm doesn't diminish with land back in those days. people drop to 1 acre and build it with MB and had a full pm with MB prices.

I found my winning country back in 2000 lol...

There was a lot of risk of suiciders. I got a lot of net from the food market with it's $5 avg price ballooning up several times over.

I demand qzjul incorporate those stats into my game profile. DEMAND IT.

Nov '98, my first attempt
http://web.archive.org/...earth/primary/nov98/y.htm
Feb '99, the aforementioned 1000 land set
http://web.archive.org/...earth/primary/feb99/i.htm
Oct '99, first win, 100m
http://web.archive.org/...earth/primary/oct99/j.htm
Jan '00, second of back-to-back wins with same name, beating out some guy called You all suck who was attempting to shame us all!
http://web.archive.org/...earth/primary/jan00/k.htm

After that most my attempts got suicided and I stopped playing much, I don't think I got through any full sets again until EE.

Yeah except for possible lower rung Tourney wins it was my first win. I definitely won some of the crappy tourney games and I think I picked up a win in game B/C as well once, never rated in game A though.

Back in those days there was a group of players called the multi hunters working together to clean up the multi issue in 1B. Using multies to fight multies... Lol. I found that funny and figured it would be fun to round up an opposing army to fight them... With more multies. Lol. After a year long battle or so, The EEVIL Empire defeated the multi huntaz. We all had so much fun fighting together that we offered to join forces and move to 1A as a division or clan.

I think we ran some kill runs on the top ranked netters before we left though. Lol

No.

That's part of the beauty of Primary. The market conditions every reset are unique. I'm surprised techers aren't teching it more for more $ per turn.

The new GDI rules combined with the 25% Humanitarian level mean everyone is bottomfeeding like crazy. Targets are running low. Weapons tech lowers the minimum NW of countries you can grab, so its at a premium.

@Getafix Primary has been following identical GDI ruleset to Express for almost 3 years. Since Round 8, on 03 March 2011 to be exact: http://forums.earthempires.com/...ed-gdi-to-the-express-one

it's the inverse effect. the top 10 is full of commies because military prices are so high. they were given a temporary economic advantage relative to the others.
now expect to see greater military production and falling prices and a leveling of each strats relative economic benefit

Quite alot, A-C was top tier D-P second tier Q-Z third tier trash those were super easy games to top10 back in the day. Worst part was all you had to do was make country top 10 in Q and move up too C then make a country and come oop dont self delete and get moved back to the 3rd tier. Oh the good old days....

Cable, that's true for Tournament but wasn't true for the other Primary-like "Random" games. The Random was just random. For Tournament, XYZ was the starter level, if you finished top 25 there you would jump to GHI, and if you finished top three there you could jump right to game A. If you didn't finish top three, you'd have to go to tier two which was games BC. Games DEF and JKL and QRS were the other tiers that nobody good ever would wind up in because how.
