104mil was my realistic projection earlier, but decided to practice a last day jump instead. Going to sleep on 89,7 now.

Great job to you eManny, definitely you were the class of the cashers. Grimstad again shows he is a stud, that was an amazing score for this tech set. I know the cheap public market jump is huge, but that score is just excellent. I'll be satisfied beating the second ranked commie by 27m, hehe.

And if I do play again in primary I will take more risks, as that is the only way to get #1. My strategy from day #1 was to get to 50k acres with 1000 turns to go and that is exactly what I've done. Too bad it wasn't enough.

Competing vs 70k acre farmers wasn't possible even with a very efficient country (32M cash per turn).

Next time I will get a lot fatter haha :D

I want to mention PaceBooM (Brandenburg), when I was spying all the other commies to compare myself, he was doing much better than Danza/EEVIL/etc. he got retaled a couple times and eventually stopped logging in much on his country and lost a lot of turns. I blame this guy who, btw, didn't even build his land after retaling PaceBooM and Serp, and instead just kept teching with 9k labs on 17k land, while desperately trying to retal me:

I went paranoid and stocked on 33M turrets instead of the 20M I originally intended just because of guys like this lol.

Lenshark's weakest point is his destocking skills - I've never known him to destock correctly/efficiently even on Alliance server; there were resets he threw away rank 1 finishes if he had destocked differently (according to SolidSnake). ;)

great job h20! Impressive that 2 farmers finished 1,2.

Luck is more of a factor than anything else when going for #1. Obviously h2orich (and the current top 5 this reset) all took a bit of risks. You will see that all 5 of them double/triple-tapped and farmed some countries that were capable of suiciding but those countries didn't.


First, you have to be playing the correct strat that set (one of farmer/casher/techer/indy).
Secondly, you have to be lucky enough not to hit anyone that will retal you 20 days later in your first 2 days of grabbing - See Dinosaur (#114).
Third, you have to avoid being a topfeed target by Gogy and Bibigon.
And finally, you have to dodge all the stealing spy ops near the end of the reset.

i multi-tapped 4 guys, but i immediately and permanently jumped out of range from all of them. h2o got lucky with guys like hydroponic avocado and google, they were in his range up until the last week or so

it's easy for you as a Ci to jump out of range. Yea i noticed those 2 guys. but they weren't retalling anyone so I didn't bother. I was more worried about hydroponic because he wars on express. Google guy was just like a land farm for everyone.

I just noticed I multi tapped 28 countries. lol

Google sent out some missiles at Population, who also quit playing. Was kinda funny after all the land he let get farmed from him that he even bothered to send out two missiles

I know who HydroponicAvocado is and part of me wanted to PM him and ask, "Are you planning to do anything to that Decoy Effect guy?" But I thought that would be poor behavior so I didn't

I only got one of this #1. Wrecking Ball tried retalling on a hope and a prayer and some other guy that basically just lemmed me retalled. Bibigon topfed me. #18 ROYALLY screwed me and maybe another guy too. He started off bombing my banks getting $45 mill a pop, I converted the cash to food and when they returned he came after me again. I had initially projected 140 mill at least, but got paranoid and panicked tried to outrun him nd it was downhill from there.

Yeah, that was easy to do actually, I wasn't worried much about it. I had intended to self-delete cause I was in Nigeria for 2 weeks during my grabbing phase and didn't know if I would have regular internet access. I think that helped me to avoid getting topfed actually cause it moderated my grabbing. When I got back and hadn't been ABed, I figured, cool. Let the luck continue.

Everyone knows farmer starts slow and commie starts fast. But when prices crash to $95 the shoe is on the other foot. I had to stop growing simply because at $95/turret I couldn't afford it, and at this same time food was selling for like $48. That's 5.3 * 2.3 * 48 = $585.12/acre for the farmer, 1.86 * 1.35 * 1.55 * 95 * .9 = $332.77/acre for the commie. Commie is making 57% of the income of the farmer. D: I think it's nice for the farmer that his land is so efficient when he also has a lot of land. Commie is still easier to play than farmer though, since getting through the early game is so fraught with risk for the farmer.

you don't know how desperate you get when your spal is going through a downward spiral as a non Ci. I had to spy on military on bigger countries and 'guess' their weapons.

I think allies op should be saved like normal spy ops. and normal spy ops should be saved by default. it's tedious to click the disk icon for every op especially when u're playing from mobile.

I definitely agree with that. They used to save by default and it was great, but apparently that was a 'bug'

congrats h2o, looked solid all set. in the endgame there was never much doubt it would be between you and crest (great startup you both had in a terrible early food market)

if i had waited a week for my switch and not been hit a second time after letting some guy have his first grab i'd have definitely been competing for a better position... i switched just as food prices hit $33 for the only time in the set, which left me straggling by a mile until prices rose and i got my tech up (grabbing and growing less for an unnecessary week).

the market then switched so heavily towards farmers and away from commies i could get back on track, but i suffered for that week.

so close to an epic set...!!! but, basically i just mistimed it. badly!

yes, you had to come and make the food prices worse by switching to farmer :P

2)whats the cost like for switching at 12k acres, I see that you were still actively grabbing at that time. I suppose you did it over a course of 3-4 days and not in 1 day? switching to demo with 50% indies and 50% farms is gonna suck.

heh yea i thought it wasn't necessary but at least it made me retal him and get my jet count up which helped speed growth (silver linings :P)

anyway, i didn't plan this switch so i had been growing as a normal commie and buying indy tech... i just decided to try it randomly at an unplanned time. I saved up cash and got high agri and built farms a bit before the switch (had about 8k built indies before the switch), while grabbing (about 3k farms and 1k mixed buildings and ubuilt), then switched.

the commie tech bonus made my low agri tech much more effective while i built up farms with stocked cash and continued to sell mil from my indies, without tax as a demo.

the cost was the standard penalty % minimum. i didn't add up all the factors for an overall $ value, but there is potential here if you time it right. the best part is the flexibility it offers, although not planning for it costs a ton and this time i think i'd have finished higher had i stayed commie, based on my startup potential.
