I can't tell you why, but I don't see a lot of spy ops in the news for the top ten finishers last round. Only #39 got hit based on public information.

I think some just don't care/can't be bothered. Others wont have enough resources to do much, but I think definitely the possibility is there for someone to be a real pesk.

Failed stealing or harmful ops count, yes. Failed informational ops do not.

Have bots ever been attempted in a primary setting with the slow turn rate? Is it feasible to have +1,000 country sets again without changing the gameplay?

Some of the countries from 2013 were close to 90,000 acres. Those were crazy.

To even think of 1000 players, It baffles my mind. Wouldn't that be fun. The same trend that was happening with E2025 (less and less players each set) Also continued here. Minus the first few years as word spread, and those 1k player sets came with a steady increase in players. How much can you really tweak a text based strategy game? really. To me it is like styles of clothes that have come and gone in popularity, or MANY other games. It is like this little piece of negativity in me, possibly. Or a very real reality that happens to many classics not just in game forum.

Then of course, you have these die hards. All this drama. People leaving for this reason and that reason, but IMO a lot of the time it has nothing to do truly with this or that reason, but how these people are tuned in their minds.

boom shaka. For me its a place to just be in my own little world, basically. Droppin and poppin weak allies, talking ot myself on the forums, and just having a time. The odd break down spamming some fellow earthers. But one thing has remained the same, even these days there is still some fun playing the game for me. It is serious retrospective fluff though in my 40's and just so many things in life that come and go. Wild.

The game is crazy fun when it’s big and full of countries. I actually like express and don’t mind the bots. The rat pack is annoying but overall I think it’s fun.

Ya, Express is great, and yes the game was a different beast with 1000s of players.

When I first started my favorite were the "random games" that would have like 80-120 players each.

Was that in the tournament server? I remember those games too but it was so long ago I can’t remember if there was a random server and a tournament server.

I remember we had alliance and tournament and primary but wasn’t there one or two more? Man that was a long time ago.

I think the mods have the right idea with implementing the bot countries. If co-op had real player interactions and was a single server it could be the most popular form of the game imo. Express is the best server experience imo outside of the turn rate seemingly leading to more guys engaging in bad sportsmanship. Being able to stock 600 turns causes way to many trolls and suiciders who spend 15 minutes building a country to destroy one a netter spent a week building.

Primary slower turn rate seems way more suited for the bot servers. The only thing I don’t like about bots is when they are in high DR. Other than that I think the mods did a great job building express to what it is now and it’s a lot of fun. Wears you out though with the super intense turn rate. I like that too though. Very intense game.

The Random games were 1C-1[whatever it went to]. Tournament was 2A-2Z.

Ok yea I thought that was right but couldn’t remember for sure. Those were the best servers i remember liking them too. Some of the big servers were intimidating and that’s where I started playing if I remember correctly.
