The espionage and bomb banks wouldn't be as big of a problem if it were possible to go to war with someone and profit off of winning the war (the assumption is that the bigger country would win easily). But as it is now, spy success is the determining factor in solo server wars and with the quick land DR limits there is little benefit to having the superior military.

My guess is that if people would stop stealing if they knew they would lose a war and end up benefiting the larger country.

I read this thread a while ago, but need to read it again; i've been busy working overtime so that i could take last weekend off for the calgary comicon.... =/

and need to catch up on sleep... once i'm over this cold i'll be able to think a little more straight

The quick and dirty, since Primary ends in 2 days, (Easiest first):

1) Don't roll out the new changes on Primary (or other solo servers?)

2) Change GDI to protect against steal spy-ops until a better harmful spy-op code can be implemented.

3) Disable Offensive Alliances & Research alliances in solo servers until a better code can be implemented.

It would be good to re-read the entire thread because there are a lot of good ideas in here. The easiest one would be #1, just don't do anything to the solo servers until the rest can be done properly. I think the majority of us playing Primary at least would rather not see the new changes happen.

Primary is the one the changes impact most, because we grow big and fat and have a lot of fun and Tourney/Express are shorter and don't get as much land. Plus, Dict was slightly competitive in Primary, but not so competitive in the shorter sets on Express/Tourney. So Primary is the one that will have final scores butt fluffed, and will weaken a gov't that people actually played for a fun alternative netting strategy.

So, 1) is totally correct. 3) is totally correct: replace them eventually, but in the time being, PLEASE REMOVE THEM. PLEASE. OMA's 2) is ehh imo; it *might* be a good temp fix but definitely not a long-term fix. People should NOT be able to go spyless with immunity. I'm not sure what would be worse, allowing 0 spy countries or allowing the broken espionages/bomb banks ops to continue. Ideal: you push out the spy op fix before the new Primary set in 4 days.

I don't write the code, all I can do is bump the good ideas so they don't get lost. I am bumping it now because the Primary set is past half over, but I believe there is still enough time to do something with it before next set. I might play next set based on how my first week of classes goes next quarter. Fixing some of Primary's problems would be a nice thing to come back to..

It's ridiculous that I can kill 250 buildings with bomb structures while ABs only take down 60 buildings.

That means it takes 4 ABs to do the same damage as one bomb structure, which means it takes EIGHT turns using ABs to equal 1 turn bomb structure damage. Just totally messed up.

The "ramp up" idea doesn't work in Primary/Tourney where turns are low and coordination isn't allowed. I logged in with 86 turns and bought 10 turns with bonus points. I ran my target down to 60,000 tanks on 19,000 land, or only 3 tanks per acre, but my last several ABs only killed 40 buildings per.

Not enough. This still needs to be revisited, especially when contrasted with the spy op damages shown above.
