He was, buy definition, the 3rd string QB when he played the Panthers. Period. He might have been 4th string earlier in the season, but that would be like calling RGIII the 2nd string QB for the skins when he has only been active for one game this year. Depth charts are fluid. Thomas was behind him on the depth chart because he got benched weeks before. He didn't even start a single game. He came in because the dude in front got hurt, played like fluff, and never played a snap again. it is why I forgot he was even on the team.
