you are taking a plural and turning it into a singular. visions of paradise is a lovely thought. delusions of granduer is a problem from which we all suffer. the crosses we bear is what builds our character.

also im thinking delusions itself should be singular, as it references a single mental health issue even if he both thinks himself mathlete of the year and more handsome than you or i.

but english and americans is a lost cause- the list of lost causes (causes plural, but one singular list) with americans is a long one.. not the list of lost causes with americans are a long one..
