of cos if food price increase, demand will fall, based on supply and demand mechanics supposedly.. but i would not have too much of a problem with that if the demand far outstrips supply.. non farmers will need food to play their turns.. if there is no food in market, they cant play their turns, but the farmers will still be able to do so (even if it means buying slightly more expensive military units in private market, if commies cant play turns and sell their goods).. at this point in time, i do not need much tech as well, so not a problem if techers cant play their turns.. i will still be able to play my turns no matter what cos i have the option to sell food to private market at 35 bucks which is still a reasonable price, if i need the cash.. remember that at this point in time, i also will be stocking up food and i can choose not to sell food if i think price is not attractive.. if there is no food in market, u do not even need to talk about stockpiling, cos non farmers cant play their turns..

I think I underestimate your sneakiness!

But they can still buy food on the private market?

yup u can, at 300+ bucks, while i get my military units at 160+ bucks in private.. i can sell my food to u at a discounted price of 200+ in public.. deal? lol

Yeah I see. Well, lucky for me I always keep a little extra food for a rainy day.

Good luck.

I have only benefitted from my own buyouts on rare occasions on two servers. Primary is not one of them. It's generally a bad idea and most people lose money in such ventures.

The other day I bought out the market on accident...

Edit: accidentally set a standing order at $380 instead of 38 and got lucky no one had food more expensive than 50

yea those smaller farmers have been putting low price.. i have been controlling the food supply and selling food that i deem excess to my private market.. the demand should be going to be more than the current supply, now that the top is going to start stockpiling.. of cos the increased demand could be met if i supply all my food to the market.. if im lucky, maybe the increasing demand is still more than the supply, and your food blockage may get bought out as well haha

Please explain to me how the private market works - why wouldn’t you just sell in the public market?

Pure unadulterated greed, he's a greedy bastard and doesn't want us to get his food :-(

So they are selling at a lower price than the public market just so there is less food in the market? Sounds very Chairman Mao-ish.

I was going to send all my missiles to 34, but thanks to others I didn’t even need to send of half to make an impact.

A risky strat to grab countries multiple times with no GDI and no SDI.

There may be at least one less significant commie in another week. It would put further pressure on military prices. Stay tuned.....

there's only like around 6 decent commies feeding the whole server.. i dont think we will see price going below 120 this round..

Interesting neither Bug nor Cumorah sent missiles until KoH did. I'm not alluding to collision here btw, I'm more interested in finding how far you can push people who clearly don't want to break GDI to see if you can get a competitive edge.

fwiw I never reported #22, I don't believe any of these guys were "cheating".

Fair enough. But note for future reference I will always retal, and an ror will usually earn 50 or so missiles as I always max out warefare for the first 20 days. If you grab me early in the set and I think you’ll end up towards the top 20, I’ll wait a month before I grab back. Hopefully over time it stops the good players grabbing me. Next time I’ll be more strategic about when I fire missiles.

See you next set.
Cheers

Hope u will be successful in the appeal.. another 1 big commie gone will affect the military price a lot lol.. normally if someone start the ball rolling on a guy, the others will also take revenge together, even without any interactions with each other, since there will be less chance of massive retals.. this is human behavior and the admin should know better..

Thanks - there weren’t too many days left I’ve given up hope of a successful appeal and will wait for the next set.
Good luck!

You shouldn't have been deleted, appeal the deletion.

I know, thanks. I’ve appealed the decision. Waiting for a response. I wonder what it was that initiated such action?

Sometimes they jump the gun when they see multiple countries hitting the same target, but in your case it was justified as is with the other hitting him, he picked the fight with all of you, if he's stupid it shouldn't warrant a deletion.

It’s a pretty poor effort if that is the case from the games administrators. And to no be given a reason for which rule has been broken is a little annoying too.
Where are the rule specified around these sorts of things anyway? Thanks
Once at the end of the reset I had half bottle of whisky and some prescription meds. That was a pretty high finish!

I love the assumption round here that my actions are 'dumb', I am a n00b, and I don't know what I'm doing... Yes, that's right you all have me figured out!

I never get to finish, because I am not in the club, and someone has to date taken care of any decent country I run. If that's the game, then fine I will play too!

https://en.wikipedia.org/...utnik_Sweetheart#See_also

Jack Kerouac, an author from the Beatnik generation; Miu confuses this with Sputnik, leading to the book's title.

https://en.wikipedia.org/...Generation#Origin_of_name

Kerouac introduced the phrase "Beat Generation" in 1948 to characterize a perceived underground, anti-conformist youth movement in New York.[6] The name arose in a conversation with writer John Clellon Holmes. Kerouac allows that it was Huncke, a street hustler, who originally used the phrase "beat", in an earlier discussion with him. The adjective "beat" could colloquially mean "tired" or "beaten down" within the African-American community of the period and had developed out of the image "beat to his socks",[7][8][9] but Kerouac appropriated the image and altered the meaning to include the connotations "upbeat", "beatific", and the musical association of being "on the beat", and "the Beat to keep" from the Beat Generation poem.[10]

For me, this is a much more interesting game.
