woohoo! tonight, the phils will have the eight position players from their opening day lineup on the field for the first time since may 21.

there will be no rolling over. phils are 20-5 in their last 25, are getting healthier, and play only two good teams the rest of the season (padres and braves).

they both have creampuff schedules here on in. looking increasingly clear that the wild card winner's coming from the nl east.

phils get victorino back this week, howard next week, and utley the week after that. oswalt looked great last night. hell, even lidge has saved five straight games. no breathing room for you!

3 games in philly sept. 20-23, then final series of the season oct 1-3 in atl.

phils play the mets and nats in between; braves play the nats and marlins.

may that provide you consolation throughout the difficult weeks ahead :-P

did i mention that the phils have won 12 in a row at home and that 15 of their next 18 games are at home?

it's not "double counting" if the same guy (rollins) goes on the dl twice.

and at the risk of stating the obvious, WHO goes on the dl, and for how long, are much more important than HOW MANY go on the dl. phils' dl list includes two nl mvps, three members of the starting rotation (somehow espn doesn't have moyer listed, so it's really 15 phillies), the closer, and the top two set-up men.

the only key phils who haven't been on the dl are halladay, hamels, werth, and ibanez.

for the braves, hudson, lowe, hanson, wagner, mccann, jones, glaus, and hinske have all avoided the dl. and prado and medlen only went on after we started "arguing" about this.

let's see, i'm basing it on the facts that (1) the phillies have won the division three straight years, (2) the phillies have won the national league the last two years, (3) the phillies are 4.5 games back, not your wishful thinking 7, (4) the phillies have been even better in the second half of the season than the braves in recent history, and (5) the phillies had a ridiculous number of injuries in the first half of the season. phils will steamroll the division as guys keep coming off the dl.

lol @ the "pushes like no other." making up 10 games in september and still missing the playoffs hardly compares to the phillies making up 7 games on the mets in september to win the division a few years back.

braves have had a very nice season so far, but they haven't accomplished anything yet.

6. lcn instructed me not to take any more hits on imag.

7. i left lcn, and detagged.

8. lcn contacted me and asked me not to hit imag, even as an untagged.

9. i did as lcn requested, despite having 68 missiles, 120(60) turns, 10 million jets, plenty of cash, and being online during your kill run.

in essence, no one suicided on anyone. imag hit lcn. imag offered no option to lcn other than having me hit other lcn countries to get my land back, which lcn did not consider to be an option.

lcn was going to take land:land, as it's done for 10 years. lcn subsequently backed down and instructed me to take less than land:land. lcn asked me not to hit imag, and i obliged.
