Total farmer's set lol.

Looks like it's going to be this way for a while, what the heck changed?
Prices were pretty darn high and there were quite a few decent sized farmers in the round.

Are attacks/spy ops allowed until last minute? Or is there like a 72hour buffer?

You don't even have to wait until you catch them to know who it is.
The method of 'how' is legit and has been posted several times :P

I think my argument still holds though. Its not about everyone getting earthquakes, it`s about an entire set being decided on who gets the most earthquakes which is based on luck.

How good would you feel if you've outplayed your competition the entire set only to get quaked 3 times in last 5-6 days and lose the set because of it... lame... maybe your closest competitor only got one, which could be a difference of 500,000,000 or 2M NW.

I don't get the utility of it, there is no strategizing around it either. Even if you argue that increasing your BPT to make it land goal + E (earth quakes) it still doesn't warrant it imo.

Agreed, get rid of earthquakes and make this game more about skill than luck

Let me simplify it for you... you are getting hit because:

1. You cannot retaliate in any way (or the attacker thinks you won't)
2. It is worth it for them to hit you (the math covers the 'why'). More on this, you can expect good players to produce at least $500/Acre and a 200acre (300total) grab with say 1000 turns left in the set will bring in $150,000,000 by the end of the set so it obviously covers jet losses and construction costs :-)
3. Keeping up in land is the only way to avoid future retals from players that the player already hit, think of it like downhill skiing... have to keep going. Grab until it is no longer mathematically worthwhile is the only strategy.

So to avoid getting hit you must:
1. Hit players that won't hit you back
2. Increase production (tech levels, building composition, land mass)

Game gets easier after a few sets if you think about what you are doing, lol.

Great netgainer set.

And if I do play again in primary I will take more risks, as that is the only way to get #1. My strategy from day #1 was to get to 50k acres with 1000 turns to go and that is exactly what I've done. Too bad it wasn't enough.

Competing vs 70k acre farmers wasn't possible even with a very efficient country (32M cash per turn).

Next time I will get a lot fatter haha :D

Good job to all!

Tech doesn't increase expenses yet increases productivity.
Perhaps someone had lots of stored turns and calculated that buying tech was more worthwhile /shrug

It's going to be a pretty good set.
Now of course if one of the fat farmers goes crazy and hits 130-135M then it's going to be a close race for second third and fourth etc... hahah

Like I called it, crazy low prices on military does that lol.

But I don't think his NW will win this set given the 70k + farmers and high food prices lol.
But then again he might not be done jumpin'

Yeah a techer might still win despite the shiet prices because of public market prices.
I'm not even sure why commies are selling at $90, they are better off eating expenses and getting units on 40k land LOL :)

For a few days anyways until prices get bigger 1-week out

eManny Game profile

Looks like the first techer to jump might shock the crowd and win the set.
For Chrissakes we're talking about $150/NW atm on the public market with tons of commies overselling themselves. So $15Bil stock at the moment would get you 100M NW jump.

Yes it's a little early but why wait until $140 jets when you can get them for $90 lol.

I could be wrong but it's peanut difference.
I do suppose that the bigger advantage of being big is the bigger private market.

Edit: bushel prices being so high should actually deter people from stopping to grab, Blid so I do think you have a point there.

But if prices were like $42 I'd say stock-em and dump-em ! lol

Lots of commies to farm but non-commies have to build on double the land + rebuilding costs.

1,000 acres is going to result in roughly 500M more $ at end of reset (with like 1000 turns to go), but if you factor in:
- jet losses
- construction costs
- oil cost
- opportunity cost (20% cash bonus)
- retal possibility
- Increased expenses
- Increased tech to reach %

You come to the conclusion that only same-strat grabs might be worth while at this point...

Topfeeding when you are the fattest country isn't the best option imo.
And the cost of rebuilding 10k acres is in the billions.

This set sucks for land definitely.

I mean just looking at the number of players versus previous resets you get a feeling that there isn't a whole lot of options out there.

And for food prices, it's very interesting. It's the big number of techers that are keeping it high, not the lack of farmers.
In my opinion anyways.

Took the biggest risk, might get the biggest reward lol.

DPRK is really going for it.
He's pushing the pace big time and will probably not get retaled. He's been making 2k + per day for a while now lol.

At this rate he will be at 75k 1 week out lol.

I'm defenetly not having the same luck with grabs.

But I will say that with jets at $100 and oil crashing, I wouldn't grab anything other than an indy at this point, lol.
