Coalition silliness stagnates the game. Alliances need to move toward a more independent mindset, or this server will continue to sit at ~700-800 players.

I doubt that.

There are 3 clans around 80-90
3 in the 40-50 range
3 in the 25-40 range

Fairly easy to envision 3 blocks to this party.

Yeah you probably will have that Team BS going on, but it would be a start.

only way to break coalitions is to put cap on size of alliances so each is ~similar size but big tags won't accept that.

capping alliances is pointless,
if I was still running sof my reaction would be to make an sof1, sof2, sof3.. after that it wouldn't matter.

They did something like that in AE iirc, and that didn't accomplish much.
Even if you couldn't do that, it wouldn't stop coalition building. Lets say that all the tags are the same size run by different people. That wouldn't stop 5-6 of them from cooperating and nailing the remaining 3-4.

I think the best way to cap members would be to give some sort of incentive to play in medium or small tags rather than an artificial cap. Not that I necesarily agree with either..

Unless major game changes are put into place, especially a declaration of war system, nothing will change.

With alot of the admins/mods posting they are limited for time, I'd recommend not holding your breath for anything changing.

Even with whatever hella lotta change you're talking about, Block A vs Block B is still here, because it never left :P Until changes come (major ones that shake things up), we'll still be at status quo. Changes to how kill run returns are figured up aren't going to change diddly.

you have to realize that any type of cooperative/competitive war game will eventually lend itself to blocks.. ultimately 2 blocks or 1 block. This is human behavior and in economics it's called tendancy towards monopoly. There has almost always been two main power blocks in this game either directly or indirectly, at least since the HAN days:P
