oh then there's that ELO song called Mr Blue.


the first time i heard it was a few years past at a Phish festival. the band had just played a raging 3 hour final set (they had already played for 4 hours prior, during the daytime)
and i had munched more drugs than i can even name.


and in a drug induced mind loop, i left my companions and the show, and headed straight for the campgrounds, totally disoriented . got lost (even though we had been sleeping in the same spot for 3 days), got found, and then heard Mr Blue come on the PA after the show had finished.


although i didn't know the show had finished, mostly due to the drug munching.
so i assumed Phish was doing an amazing encore with this imaginary guy 'Mr Blue'.

i started to frantically text msg all my friends who were by the stage, and just now starting to walk back to the campground. i asked 'OMGOMG OMG WHO IS MR BLUE WHO IS MR BLUE WHAT IS HAPPENING?!?! ' ... thinking that i was missing out on some amazing encore with guest appearances and all.


the responses i received : " ??? " .... "who??" ... "where are you dude??"


we quickly pieced together what had happened. and i thought to myself,
meh,
still a great song.
