That's complete bullfluff. There must be 2 or 3 billion people in that demographic. You think 2 or 3 hundred million people have heard of Earth 2025?

You're delusional.

(On another note, why the hell are you mixing percentages with gross numbers? If your claim is that 10% of people in that demographic have heard of the game, why does it matter if you get together 100, 500, or 2 billion people?)

You only need to a control for variance if you've actually conducted (or intend to undertake) a survey or study. When dealing with hypothetical assertions, there is no advantage in proposing a sample size.

Even if that were not the case though, and I accepted that he had a reason for mixing gross numbers with percentages: his statement is still idiotic.

Not surprsing, when I was about 10 I played basketball with Dominic Monaghan against a film truck, because my friend wasn't in and they were shooting a Hetty Wainthropp scene. Few years later he is playing Merry from Lord of the Rings.

I would totally buy an EE t-shirt. Its actually pretty easy these days to get orders of T-shirts with any design you want, frats, etc. did it all the time at college I remember. I guess the problem would be shipping it out to individual earthers heh.

BTW, jealous you have good seats to ACC/NCAA tourny Orkin. Random but how ridiculous was it that Dook/Maryland wasn't nationally televised two nights ago!

It was nationally televised on ESPNU. You can probably see me tomorrow as Duke is @ Florida State on ESPN. I'll be there behind the FSU bench ;)

And yes, my seats especially to the ACC Tournament are disgustingly good. Put it this way. 2 years ago I had Sam Cassell sitting directly in front of me and Harry Douglas from the Atlanta Falcons sitting directly behind me. Year before that I had Elgin Baylor and Kevin McHale sitting right in front of me with Brad Johnson a little further down on my row. Year before that I had a TicketMaster VP sitting next to me who offered me a large amount for my tickets after we lost :P

damn lol how do u have those seats? And, its news to me that game was on ESPNU, I wish I had known that. I thought it was picked up by FSN, but then at places where I'm at (NYC area) the FSN affiliate was showing hockey not the game.

Getting a little ahead of ourselves with the NCAA tournament now aren't we? I'm not even sure my team will make it despite playing Duke so close =p (ps we missed your assessment of the game!)

Yeah trumper unless we go 11-5 or 12-4 we are probably going to the NIT. Luckily with the ACC being so bad this year there's still a chance of that happening. And like @MD there's always a chance Duke can lose @FSU ;)

i was thinking that it'd be best to get a celebrity endorsement from Randy Quaid while he was camping out in Canada. we'd be able to recruit all those guys and dolls who camp out and prevent the UFOs from landing.
