The indications I'm getting is that it's working quite decently tho.

I didn't invest in any pharma companies, I didn't "feel" it, I went for dividend stocks all of this year.

Big pharma stocks have usually been nice dividend stocks. I own AstraZeneca since long before this and before it used to trade at 5-8% dividend. It's rare that dividend stocks turn into growth stocks lol, it usually goes the other way. I would be hard pressed to think of even one other example when that has happened(I mean before 2020).

Some of the largest companies are betting big on it. IE BlackRook.

I think at < $70 is great price to get in at. It may drop one more week, but after the 2nd week of October it will only go up on hype alone. I've already doubled my money so far on stock market. I've also done a ton of research on this pharma stock as well as the others.

Originally i was going to go with AZN,. but when they announced they were going to offer the Covid vaccine at no profit,. there was no way I was going to go with them. It's nice to hear companies are out there to help us find a solution at no profit,. but it makes a horrible investiment imo.

@Shweezy what price did you buy at?

I tossed my chips at 54-62 bro, I banked a good bag from early IBIO hype and tossed it into MRNA, at the time the big three were MRNA, AZN, and Pfizer.. with others like Merk and Johnson&Johnson being behind

This was like 3 or 4 months ago tho

As for Req's comment about gambling, it's different. You lose money at the casino it's gone & it's not coming back. Stocks are different. Your stock could plummet but then a few months later it jumps back up. That's why doing your homework is important.

I didn't read / watch any stock market books or videos. I simply invested my own time learning about two stocks.

Look, I can't make anyone do anything that you don't want to do. I've almost doubled my money since Sept 2nd., and I'm sharing the intel with you all.

Moderna may be a good 'bet' based on the information you have. What you have to take into account tho, and I'm sure you have, is that the information you have access to is usually already priced into the stock market. There may be circumstances that this is not true and this may well be one of them. There may be instances when you because of expert knowledge in the field have a greater degree of insight than the market for a brief time. But the investment firms and fund managers usually have more information than what we mere mortals have, and they think the stock is worth around $70 now.

While I believe Moderna's vaccine candidate will work, I am not sure if it will work better or worse than its competitors, or if it will be able to be scaled up in production volume as rapidly as the competitors. I'm not saying it won't, and some of these questions might have been answered already in the public domain, and these fund managers have this information if anyone has it.

I think you miss my point, though. I'm not saying it is the equivalent of gambling, but single stock trading is more 'like' gambling than not when compared to other investment strategies to diversify your risk. That's the only point I am making. Not saying you should or shouldn't, but most people are just going to put money in a stock and lose; I understand you are not most people, though.

Yeah I actually disagree with diversifying your stocks unless you have such a large quantity of them that they become difficult to sell, then to me it makes sense to branch off into an additional stock.

It's quite a bit of work to keep up with one or two stocks. I couldn't imagine managing 10+ stocks.

Anybody that has ever had a high school biology class could have told you that an RNA vaccine is about the longest of long shots. Moderna has NEVER taken a product to market and likely never will. They are basically a sophisticated pump&dump scheme. Making money on Moderna's stock is purely a function of Moderna's marketing and promotion division, not their pharmaceutical lab.

Only insider if he works for them, or has links to people who work for them in their research team..

TBH its a call most people could have made. Any company on the market with decent research depts and big bankroll could do what they are doing, and they are not alone.
