I wouldn't be spending any time on this game if I knew someone, somewhere, would always be able to have more turns than me, simply because they have more access to whatever currency is used.

I am a troll. Everything I say must be assumed to be said solely to provoke an exaggerated reaction to the current topic. I fully intend to bring absolutely no substance to any discussion, ongoing or otherwise. Conversing with me is pointless.

I don't really care enough to pay for turns. I'd happily make a donation, but making it about turns is stupid.

Bring back patron accounts with similar bonuses wouldn't be bad.

I am not poor at all.

I just find the idea of a financial mechanism that gives the edge to no-life players ridiculous.

Why should a poor player be at a strategical deficit simply because someone with money wants an edge?

If you could pay for turns, we'd have to pull Comwood out of retirement in order to combat the 10,000 turns that llaar would buy!

When I played SGW, they would have supporter packages.

If you 'donated' 50$ to the game, they would give you a one time gift of x amount of currency ingame, y amount of turns, z amount of untrained units..

Most games have somewhere you can donate to the game/designers and receive a small bonus insite.. I wonder if Pang and Co. have thought about doing this. Since we've had Patron/Platinum Status in the past, I don't think the idea is too outlandish.

edit: perhaps the patron status for EE could also bring a small ingame bonus, instead of just a fancy tag on the forums. Perhaps a small % bonus to BPT, income, warfare %, ect would be small enough to not unbalance the game, but does allow those who donate to receive a small thank you

I wouldn't mind paying to get special artwork or something (kind of what xbl does) or a special board. However money shouldn't be able to buy any kind of actual play advantage over others.

In the spirit of the thread, I'd spend nothing for turns durring a netting set, cause I hate netting as is. But, in a war set, durring a FS, $5 a pop for a turn may make me think about it.

Old platinum level with a real patron board would be cool, 5$ per 3 months, I paid for that for a while. It's nothing big, just the thought that you are helping out with hosting to keep things going.

Though to set a price for a resource within the game and have no limits to it? Ixnay on that one, I'd end up not playing anymore. It's a good model for a game that exists to make money, no doubt. It's also a good way to shut out anyone from competing if doing so requires monetary investment. That's too much like real life, we're all here to escape that hell hole.

You guys should add in-game avatars for when people send messages or search for a country, and people could like pay real money to make them have like jewels and fluff or some fluff. it'd persist across resets & servers, of course (or, you could customize each one, but have all purchased stuff available across your account!).

I'm with him. Make some sort of patron status where you automatically get the 6 free turns every 24 hrs and those that don't pay have to do the vote thing to get them. It's fair you are paying to be lazy not gain an advantage over anyone else.
