As a complete outsider, I thought both candidates weren't great. I was upset Bernie wasn't on the ticket with Clinton and upset that the Republicans couldn't come up with someone better than Trump to champion the populist message. The election degraded into name calling and scandal wrangling. It was disgusting to watch. I'm glad it's over.

But forget about Trump, what really worries me for your country is the impact this has on the supreme court and other judicial appointments. The US is going to do a hard turn to the right. Probably not in the fiscally conservative, small government ways that would be an improvement... but rather trying to legislate or litigate away unwholesome things like abortions, gay marriage, stem cell research, etc. That'll be good fodder for the masses while the piggy bank is raided and regulations are eroded away. That's been the Republican game plan for their last 3 administrations.

I don't think Trump himself will be the end of the world but the era of governance that his win will usher in will be exceedingly bad for the US.

I voted Gary Johnson who received over 4 million votes and no electoral votes, but the libertarian party is making it's presence known. I think next election it could reach the 5% needed for federal assistance. Anyways, fuk republicans and democrats, I am tired of the two party system. It is worn and broken, and completely irrelevant in today's society, we need a new and revised establishment. You need to re-read what I wrote. I work for a federal agency, I'm worried about losing my job. You missed the part where I said people want downsize in "government control" not non profit agencies. You clearly don't know what downsizing government means. There's a difference between downsizing federal and state government employees that have no political affiliations and politicians who hold public office and have noticeable title's, positions and power to and including authority over police resources and military that they use to control the public. I'm just a mailman. Do you see what I mean? How would cutting postal jobs downsize government control over it's people? Are you reading me here loud and clear?

I don't think Trump is the one you should be worrying about starting WW3. Hillary has never seen a military intervention she didn't like (and she's voted for all of them!). Trump may have some serious flaws but he is relatively non-interventionist and significantly less likely to try to restart the Cold War. That's his big positive imo.

He did say he'd bomb ISIS but so did Hilllary (sort of - right after she wanted to impose a no-fly zone over Syria so Russia would be unable to bomb the radical Islamic terrorist groups who have US funding.. oops, I mean the "valiant freedom fighters against the Assad dictatorship" who have US funding).
