Well son of a fluff, I stand corrected. I was conveniently just hit with a barrage of gs and a few chems so I tested it. Your production is indeed helped by the raised tax rate resulting in lower max pop, but the civilian replenishment was much less than when I dropped the tax rate to 1% as furious said. I'm not sure which way is more beneficial and I'm not willing to do the math hah

You may want to look into that a bit more furious. In normal circumstances, you are right. However if your population has been destroyed, raising your tax rate decreases your max pop. By decreasing your max population, your dwindled population is now closer to max, which causes your civilians to return at a quicker rate, until you approach max pop again. Which is when you would decrease to 60 % and so on.
My example works when your civilians are close to extinct tho. If you've only been hit by a few gs or chems you won't need to raise it so much. Also, if your production is down from low pop, when you raise your tax rate you'll immediately see a rise in production due to being closer to max pop. Sorry if this is confusing, but it makes sense in my head lol

That makes sense, celphi.

Although that would be nice, furious, you are probably right in that it would be better to keep it simple

I jacked up and grabbed someone before I joined gdi, waiting for the inevitable now. What's the reasoning behind blocking gdi after you attack someone if you haven't broken any gdi rules, anyway?

A tip I found quite helpful, and you may too when you encounter this situation. You're population replenishes slower and slower as you get farther from your max pop. What I mean is, and this is just a quick example, If if your max pop is 10k and your current pop is 5k, you may get back 500 pop per turn. But if your current pop is at 1k, you may only regain 50 pop per turn. With that in mind, A very effective way to speed up your population replenishment if your current pop has been decimated is to raise your tax rate to 70%. This will lower your max pop and cause civilians to come back at a faster rate, also it decreases cash lost per turn. When you see your civilians per turn start slowing down, lower tax rate to 60%, repeat this process until you are back to your desired tax rate

Yes, I don't understand that either blid. I was warring with a small Alliance on Ffa, their countries much larger than mine. I noticed that 2 of their largest countries had 0 spies, so I started lighting them up with spy ops. I had several countries with over 500k spies on like 10k acres, and even they failed 40+ ops out of 50 once the Dr kicked in. And he had 0 spies!

I'm still in the learning phases of the game, and especially a casher. I can see already that I stopped my growth too early, as I'm only at about 25k acres, but I'm going to make the most of what I've got. I'm sitting on about 120mil bushels, and watching the market creep up, most likely from that tyrant making his jump? So I'm just wondering, is it too soon to jump and try to resell? Should I even be that worried about prices going up on the market or do people just focus on the private market for the most part?

I was on track to have my best finish and hit t10 for the first time. 4 huge retals in a 2 hour window set me back pretty bad. 5k acres and 280 mil cash bye bye. About 50k tech too

I've had it happen playing other types of countries. It doesn't bother me when someone retals, but I do think it's funny when someone retals after leaving theirself nearly defense, and then they get butthurt when I ror. The fact that they can rely on gdi to ward off the ror is the messed up thing tho..

I just don't like that the way gdi works almost condones that type of thing. By that I mean Going practically defenseless so that you can do huge retals in the hope that the larger player will not ror to avoid war.

Yup, autobuy got them. Playing on my phone, tried to sell at 142 but I'm guessing I entered 14w. I have to hold w to type 2. Unfortunately the game doesn't give any kind of error when a letter is entered, it just processes any numbers before the letter

I'd like to think there is a thorough enough investigation to provide concrete proof of cheating before a country gets banned, but from what is available to the public, it sure looks like a legit war. Hopefully there's something the mods know that we can't see, or that's just sorry on their part....

Breaking gdi with you was unintentiona, did t realize i already grabbed you. Often times my turns are hastily spent because I'm at work alot and don't have time to scan my news feed. Anyway, breaking gdi with number 60 was intentional and he's doing a damp fine job of smashing me into the ground. Just giving you a heads up so you don't totally ruin your set ruining me.
