He won't end up running, but I am a huge fan of Mitch Daniels.

Looks like the who's who from the old folks home is going to eventually make it through here. =)

Well I ran out of food twice, and made other dumb mistakes, but I finished 11 th in game A. Since I thought I would be destroyed this round, i'll take it.

I remember about 240 counties in the tag. So maybe 40 or so members.

90 is still to high, try 80.

I have been asking the exact same question and the completely unsupported answer that I got back was 9:8

Well, I screwed that up.

I came in 5th. Unfortunetly, I thought the round still had another 22 minutes to go as of right now. Nope, the round is over. I left 300 million in cash and about 12 hours of cashing turns on the table.

Real world, I could have gotten to 4th, close to 3rd, but I doubt I would have made it.

Lots of NW mistakes this round. I assume I will get my hat handed to me in game A.

My days of leading major alliances and playing on that server are likely over. The hours of your life it takes, the calculations to place in the top 10, running war and kill chats, it takes more effort than I am willing to put in at this point in my life. I did try and get some minimal access to an alliance to talk strategy, but it didn't work out. I just want to play some tourney for the foreseeable future.

Anyway, I think I am sitting well, should easily finish top 10 in my tourney game.

I am making a ton of stupid NW costing mistakes, made another one today. I am sure I will be back to ask more stupid questions.

Well, I've made countless mistakes, seriously countless dumb errors, cost myself NW more than once, but I am learning. Thanks to all that have helped an old man with Earth memory loss.

Hi Ruthie. I'm doing well. Married, 2 beautiful young daughters, my wife and I are self employed. That combination seems to take up about every minute of every day.

Helmet was pissed at Omega and tagged LCN for a few days, maybe a week, and then detagged and started blasting RoCK. SoF started after LCN, I think our third set. Our first set we were floating without protection with only EoS throwing us a mercy DNH. LCN was in RoCK Family in our second set, taking the place that Omega vacated.

As a side note, there was serious talk at one time of merging SoF and LCN, but neither Dark Helmet or myself was willing to give up our names. I was willing to merge under the LCN name and make Helmet the leader of the new alliance, but he wasn't interested in killing the SoF name any more than I was willing to kill the LCN name. Just an interesting side note.

Castejon and The Nihilist "started" LCN. The Nihilist named us La Cosa Nostra. Caste handed me the leadership about 10 days into the first set.

Outside of Caste, who didn't even finish the first set with us, no other original LCN member had played in 1A. The lions share of LCN came out of Tourney game G, H, or I (I think it was G) the reset before. LCN started the very next reset after Omega started.

RoCK was created by the merging of a few older alliances.

LCN was a brand new creation, and didn't merge off of anyone. It's members were complete rookies to the alliance server. I am not sure if it will ever happen again. Even RD splintered off one of the early alliances.

I'll go back to tourney now. Have fun.

I know what FOG was. I was in it for it's first set, and fought against it in it's second set. It came out of RoCKFamily that I was also in.

I noticed Dantzig is sporting a FoG sig in his posts. Surely he is not referring to the old FOG? Surely that is long dead?

What is FoG? I remember being in FOG (Sort of the old RoCKFamily Alliances) for a set before we dropped out and fought along side TIL supporting IX.

Sorry for my ignorance, it's been a long time.

Assuming that SPAL is still the way it is calculated, what is the average/good SPAL for tourney? 1? 3? Do you really need 5?

bah, you wait for someone to request an alliance, get the free look, and then attack without accepting.

Or, really the way it worked back in the day was that you get an offer, see the free look, attack them and then accept so they can't attack back.

Sadly, I was on the losing end of that far, far more often than the winning end.

You can't have O, D, spy allies in tourney anymore?

How are you supposed to get free looks at possible targets?

You know, if I just had reading comprehension, I would have noticed that my question was answered before I asked.

Thank you for the help.

The Wiki info sort of sucks. Not very detailed. We had better detailed info back in the late 90's, you would think it woud be at least as good here in the 10's.

LCN doesn't seem to have an exterior Message board anymore, I tried to stop by and say hello.

Really, I just want to remember how to play, It's been a decade or so since I was top ten material. I see Bushwood Country Club in the game I am in, brought a smile to my face.

I am shocked it is so easy to build in these early turns.

What I really need right now is how the time away bonus works. It used to be like 3 extra turns for staying out 12 hours, and 6 extra turns for staying out 18 hours. Something like that. What is it now?

Help me out if you have a second.

And I got 20 acres just for logging in, is that some sort of timed bonus as well?

I will be back to ask more stupid questions.

It's been a long time, and I sort of remember how it works. Need some help with basic stupid questions.

Is there a source for formulas still out there. I need even the simplest of basics like nw of military, troops, jets, etc. What are the maximums on tech. Like I seem to remember it 180 for res, but the return on investment stops at about 160.

Are there still turn bonuses for staying logged out? I remember it was a few turns for maybe 12 hours, and maybe 6 for 18 hours, or something like that.

I am sure I will have more stupid questions. I have a county running that I started a day or 2 ago, and it seems to be coming back to me, sort of.

What I really need is a site/source that breaks down what all the formulas are now days.

Thanks.
