Given my new understanding of how SO work, I absolutely see how it could be abused.

It doesn't work in the logical way to deter that possibility.

This was in the other thread, but I want to be crystal clear.

It makes sense to me that the highest standing bid, no matter when it was placed would get goods first. If an order is sitting there for $75 turrets, and I place a later bid for $76 , my order ought to be filled first, as I am willing to pay more.

If I am interrupting correctly in the other thread, this is not the case, the oldest order is filled first if it can be.

If this is the case, it will change how I do things.

In the first example, i can defeat it by having a standing order at $76.

I steal the turrets and the cheaters can't pull it off.

What ever happened to Patty? I mean there was that night with DIStopia and I never heard from her again after the asylum. We just don't talk about it in mixed company. =)

I am glad Les is doing well, I had lunch with him a few years ago, but sort of last track. I think everyone's business is down some, mine is still inching forward, but it is not what it was.

Chadius, I am in your court on this. Players start grabbing days before it makes sense to me. I've only been back a few sets after sitting out a decade, so what do I know, but I generally track some of the more aggressive guys, certainly the ones that try to hit me.

By the end of the set, they are destroyed, or under the cut off and go down to the minor leagues, and they certainly aren't anywhere around when I look at who is ranked by me at the end.

I am not anti-grabbing, I carry jets, and lots of Tanks, but they are mostly used as a deterrent or as pay back. I get missile tech as well, Nukes hurt more in a short tourney game.

Sadly, I can get exploring to 17 million net, no worries. I think I can get to 20 million without my CONSTANT boneheaded mistakes. I don't believe you can win as an explorer.

Well, maybe as a techer......

Can Chadius get some sort of special recognition for making the 1,000th post. Maybe a picture of a huge trophy on his player profile page, or a Female Russian body builder, or one of those English bulldogs with the huge ball sack......

There should be some permanent record of this achievement.

I just barely missed doing this exact thing. One single turn more and I would have run out of food. I should have been safe by 15 turns by my math.

I remember when we were just starting LCN and the best and ONLY pact we got was a UNAP from EoS. There were 13, maybe 15 of us in the alliance, easy pickings.

That said, with a few requests, we got a DNH from RoCK, and our handful of countries were put on their traded list, which gave us a DNH for the entire RoCKFamily hosting site.

This was back before in game tags.

Without the free handouts from the big guys in EoS and RoCK, who had absolutely nothing to gain from us, we could have been crushed.

There was a lot of charity given to start ups back in the day. LCN certainly paid it forward back in the 90's when we could.

Confused my build per turn and my available to build number. Ended up building half the buildings I could have for the turn when I could have explored a turn and done a full build.

On the very next turn, I tried to explore 2 turns. I didn't get any acres, couldn't understand. HIt the back button, wasn't thinking re-submitted the action. Yep, I cashed for 4 turns instead.

Waited 18 hours to log in. I didn't know or didn't remember that you have to log in at least once to start the 18 hour bonus clock. So I waited around forever, and don't get 6 free turns.

I only play tourney. A couple of hours before the tourney round started, I went a head and collected my 8 bonus points so I could have a jump on the round. All 8 points were wiped out likely when the round started, but my clock to get more still hasn't expired.

Little dumb stuff like this.

At least I remembered to sell my troops this time.

I want a set where I don't:

Run out of food
Buy food on the private when I think I am on the public market
Run out of food
drop land when I think I am destroying buildings
Run out of food
Buy 10,000,000 bushels when I tried to buy a million
Run out of food

And countless other little stupid mistakes each reset. I've been back for 4 resets, and run out of food 3 of them now.

Afaik is #1 all time in tourney in total NW, #1 all time in tourney in total land, #2 all time in best 3 averaged tourney finishes, and has finished in the top 10 in game A 11 times.

There is a small chance he might have some worthwhile thoughts......

I played my first tourney in game Y back in the 1990s.

Tourney was a real challenge back then.

Same thing happened to me on an IPad. Go into you settings, tap safari, and you will be able to clear everything.

Hopefully I will be able to use this to get the 2 points for the second bonus that I miss out on 75% of the time.

It was back before in game tags, when everything was secret traded lists. Starting up LCN, and the only ally we had was a mercy DNH from EoS, and then a mercy DNH from RoCK in the last couple of week of the set.

I was closing in on finishing about 80th or so, and I grabbed TGA. And not just TGA, but Digtex himself. Tap-danced out of the automatic kill, but payed monsterious reps. A few days later I grabbed a UCNer that turned out to be Finny himself, payed more reps.

We had 15-20 countries in LCN if we were lucky, and there were 100+ member alliances everywhere and you didn't have tags to to know who was who.

We were able to turn those grabs on leaders into pacts for the next set, so it is likely good that I grabbed them and made the connections even if I did have to grovel to a bunch of over the top grandstanding.

I've been back and poking around for a couple of months. I seem to remember seeing some way to look at a player and see their finish history. Country stats, ranking, all time combined land and NW, a number of things.

I don't know how I accidentally got there, and haven't been able to recreate it. Where do I look?

I remember being so stuck back in the day where There was no food on the market as Omega (i always blamed Omega for that fluff) just did another market buyout. I would be out of food and just need enough to play 1 turn to put things on the market so I could keep playing. Commie who needed to sell just to play turns.

Without paying the stupid price for food, I would have run out of food just to try and sell to play.

There are advantages to having it there.
