I just got the call about 10 minutes ago. I've been hired on to a job to scrub oil off ducks and dolphins and whatnot and will be gone for 3+ months working 7-12's. Try not to kill the game before I get back.

Holy fluff. It is fluffing terrible out here. Every day when we go out in the boat, it's like going out into... well, war zone doesn't cover it, more like plague zone... except we can see the plague. We've had less and less luck saving animals. Hell, we can't even hear any ambient wildlife on some days.

It doesn't help that we literally have to sneak past the brute squad just to get out there. Seriously.

I've already gone through a full crew on my boat. Everyone is getting sick. I don't know if it's the dispersant or what. It's always the same. I'm starting to feel sick, so I've been given time off to recover.

I hate BP so much right now.

What work do you ordinarily do? Who hired you? Where do you live?

This whole disaster is ridiculous. BP is completely at fault and has mishandled the clean-up terribly. I can only imagine what insights you might have beyond what I know from Wisconsin.

What work do you ordinarily do?
Technical Support, sometimes refinery work, so already had the 40 hour hazwoper cert

Who hired you?
Audubon Society

Where do you live?
Port Arthur, Texas (you know, that place where we had another oil spill already this year)

@Marshal
I wouldn't have to avoid BP's security thugs if I had a government job.

Thanks Xelah. I worked for BP last year and I have been absolutely shocked and mortified by how they have handled this situation.

:'(

I have to confess, I wasn't much of an environmentalist before now. This is awful though. Tar balls found in Texas.

That's home for me. I haven't been able to talk to anyone locally to find out how much oil has actually washed up in Texas. I've stopped believing stuff I hear on the news about the spill.

"There's no oil leaking."

"It's only a thousand gallons a day leaking."

"No more than twenty thousand gallons a day leaking."

"There are no plumes of oil, it's all on the surface."

"The chances of oil washing up in Texas are really low."

"Only five gallons of tar washed up in Texas."

Somehow, I just don't feel that five gallons was all that showed up. Even if it was, it's probably the calm before the storm. I'm dreading when news gets back to me that Port Arthur looks like it does here.

I've got a list of people I'm not voting for when their terms are up and am likely to help with the campaigns for anyone running against them. =/

Finally did the signature thing.

No offense Xelah, because I am sorry anywhere got hurt, but I am glad it hit Texas. Clearly the folks in Houston -> folks in Austin -> propagating this fluff show.

I have always been pro-environment although I have never considered myself an environmentalist. I knew the MMS was corrupt, but not like this. We need oil - it drives our lives... but we need to get off of it faster than ever now. This is just further proof.
