either the wiki is wrong or there is a PM penalty for logging off in express which effects any player who wants to clear his PM

this post is yet another attempt to change a rule that impedes the growth of express
so take it for what it is please

according to the wiki on the regeneration rates of the PM there is a .015% depreciation in the number of PM units for every turn that a player is logged off. The wiki does not mention any depreciation for turns when the player is logged in. If true, then a player who logs out for ten hours late in the set and then comes back in loses say 45.000 troops 35000 jets 35000 turrets and 9k tanks just because he logged out. After ten hours he receives no bonus turns so he is in a dramatic net loss position.

from a purely gameplay point of view, he should not log off. while this may true of all servers it is especially hurtful to express because many players do not wait 18 hours between log ins. if you log out for 18 hoursa on express, you have fallen so far in the scores that you become farmable. 18 hours on express is more than a week on primary.

if this is accurate then the rule should be changed, if inaccurate the wiki should be corrected.

thanks for your consideration.

That sounds inaccurate, but I've been wrong about such things before (recently).

Interesting point. This of course is only a factor if you haven't yet bought out your private market.

I'm not sure you can really stay logged in at all times, without ever catching a logoff.

Scenario 1(you logout for say 24hrs) Say you have x amount of units when you log off. Those x amount of units are going to decrease at the given rate, but you also have y units that you received over those 24hrs and none of those units are effected by the losses.

In scenario 2: I think the problem is that you can't really stay perpetually logged in which would actually result in more units lost and a smaller private market.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. How often would you have to be freshing to stay logged in? I bet it would be extremely often.

let's see, think i could buy like 4m troops, 2m jets, 2m turrets and 1m tanks last time i logged on for Express with 10k acres.

if i was denied the ability to buy 45k troops, 35k jets, 35k turrets and 9k tanks, what would it matter?

Logging in only affects when units are added to a player's PM. When a player logs in, his country gains PM units equal to the per unit rate (3, 2.5, or 1) * acres * turns_passed.

If a player has units on his PM, those units decay as turns pass, whether or not he is logged in or logged out.

once your PM maxes, the available units start wandering off.

Your troops turn in to zombies as their flesh decays.

You have 1000 troops in your private market. You watch a turn go by. You gain a certain amount of troops, but you lose 1.5% of your initial 1000 troops.

No, not necessarily. If you don't want to lose PM units, simply logout with an empty market. There will be 0 decay until you login and a turn passes after you login.

If you feel the explanation is unclear, add another paragraph explaining it.

You arnt that important. You arnt on my mind that much. Get over it.

the primary reason why the wiki is not growing as we had all hoped is evident in fordy's post

he is editing content from many people

that was not to be his job
yet it is about all he does

when you look at the tenor of his comments, his inability to spell and his lack of verbal skills, it is clear why the wiki is not growing

it is time to replace him and let the wiki grow

It's been mentioned many times, he has to edit the information on pages for players because otherwise people post crazy, off the wall inside jokes or untruths or personal/useless opinions.
