should have 1k bots. what 20 real players? Then it will be super fun. Express is just too fast paced for me, I use to play a decent amount way back in the day, before the bots. I find bots really just make the game a lot less competitive might be different if bots ran harmful ops, retaled etc. I know obviously unless it wants to be all explore, bots come into the picture when you are looking at some of these express sets with so few real players. At the same time, the bots is when I left express. Eventaully you might have 10 or players tweaking all the little tricks for bot play to see who is the best bot farmer strategist. I was thinking before not so much more bots was the answer but a limit on how many times one player could hit them. But I know some people would just love to have fun popping bots and getting phat.

boom shaka. For me its a place to just be in my own little world, basically. Droppin and poppin weak allies, talking ot myself on the forums, and just having a time. The odd break down spamming some fellow earthers. But one thing has remained the same, even these days there is still some fun playing the game for me. It is serious retrospective fluff though in my 40's and just so many things in life that come and go. Wild.

I wish I had a time machine. Because man! playing this game with 1000's of players was some crazy good times.

Then of course, you have these die hards. All this drama. People leaving for this reason and that reason, but IMO a lot of the time it has nothing to do truly with this or that reason, but how these people are tuned in their minds.

even when I think of advertisements. My guess is it would actually cost a fair amount to even have a chance, at bringing in (and keeping) 1k + players.

To even think of 1000 players, It baffles my mind. Wouldn't that be fun. The same trend that was happening with E2025 (less and less players each set) Also continued here. Minus the first few years as word spread, and those 1k player sets came with a steady increase in players. How much can you really tweak a text based strategy game? really. To me it is like styles of clothes that have come and gone in popularity, or MANY other games. It is like this little piece of negativity in me, possibly. Or a very real reality that happens to many classics not just in game forum.

Interesting. I think it's a nice tweak. Just funny I literally turned chicken, basically.

I think some just don't care/can't be bothered. Others wont have enough resources to do much, but I think definitely the possibility is there for someone to be a real pesk.

I remember one set wayy back when I had a strict 1 hit policy. Some ass clown kept causing issues for 3 of my allies, so I farmed him. :) was big enough to do it easily and had enough common sense getting deleted would have been very unlikely with how I went about it.

Of course we all have well, or most of of us have done something similiar. Ok, lets even say, just me. I have done it. I think it is not really that complicated that aside from times things are excessive in nature, patterns, or very beyond the blurry lines of what is acceptable, or there is clear in game messages etc...... the main issue is if we come out and say something a little too direct or stupid about what we did, so really is a lot of common sense and sometimes a lack there of that can get one in trouble when at times otherwise it would have been fine. And im not implying that as the case here specifically.

Its definitely not bad by any means more so just tired of it not a jab at the game so much as my own flow of iife. It still offers a lot of fun. In no way knocking the game though it may sound a bit as such. I know personally I have really enjoyed some of the work and changes implemented in classic! The game is especially lucky to have someone like yourself working at it. I often forget about the other servers lol. Always been a fav of this server.

No drama. But feeling bored as hell with the game. Happy to still be able to pop in and play all these years later though.

Obviously the player count ties into it. But mostly its just like, old. For me personally and I know of others this is the main case. Not cause slagpit did this or that, or LaF or any of the other happenings, or even the very low player numbers. But that definitely creates a very retrospective experience vs years past. It's just old though, mostly. Blessed to be able to play when the mood strikes. And hopefully something gives with new blood to new players. Can you imagine how fluffty this game must feel if you are a noob? Lol. Honestly. Some people rip the noobs apart. They should try harder to learn etc. But the issue for them is mostly the low player counts. Its not that fun or sustainable for getting going.

Feeling like 2017, its always in and out. Like eating the same meal day in and day out for years. Sometimes for some people it gets old. It isnt that it isnt a good meal. But yah....

Kudos as always the ones working on the game and keeping it hosted.

I do not think it makes enough difference, that the focus would be much different than my usual pure indy start up. That is getting to 135% indy. then getting bus and res to 115%. And then getting indy to 150% before working on the others techs (unless of course you find some real real sweet deals).

Yah, does seem a bit harsh of a penalty. Never knew much about the word "sanctions" until recently. Back in the day in 2003 after I got out of the hospital (near miss). My friend had this real fun idea we would both run several countries each, also logging into each others countries and cheat like hell. lol. Not even trying to hide it, really. was fun, while it lasted. Nothing to be proud of, but hey is what it is as the saying goes. 30 years is a good run : )

You set up a pretty crazy commie. Perfect start up, tons of tech early - though I think more geared towards hopes of a lot more land than is available, this set anyway. Put that country in here 10 years ago, maybe even a few years ago could be mammoth.

That was all I was doing with tmac. Jets and turrets were selling for 80 and 90 and fast and for a prolonged period. Tech was pushing 4k. I have no idea but I just copied him more or less. Of course he smashed my final nw, as of course he was making awesome grabs smacking em all up good. I am not 100% that may have even been the set LB decided to farm him like 7 times and he still won with 25m more nw than my 2nd place.

I think you would be better off to just SPY LB Hess. You just run an op.. real time data vs looking at a final picture and instead watching that picture unfold in real time every so often. Or just say, hey, nice commie how are you doing it ? ;) lol

I am wondering how comparable going back 15 years to now is etc. Have the players gotten better? Have the dynamics changed, and things are not totally comparable. A bit of both, perhaps. Def you would suspect it has gotten harder to have big finishes ??? yet we have seen the craziest of them in recent years.

Most every commie that wins has the same things in common. Lots of land. Obviously you will need some tech to, but awesome grabs are usually the key reason they win. My only W was simply on fluke. single taps only. And it just so happened that set that SERP had a couple people he was not so lucky to get out of range from after farming them.

Tech was a lot cheaper back in those days.. ;) lol. Tmac ran a pretty crazy techer and he was having to sell he said sub 2k and still broke 100m. That is like 4 or 5 years ago. Fack. We need to get this player count to 100+ again.

I grabbed a million barrel at 99 between last night, and this morning. Currently stacked on turns and not doing much! Seems there are 4 commies doing the bulk of production and likely not too many more joining that production.
