My wife has a great many awesome qualities but, sadly, she can't cook worth a damn. I love to cook, however, probably because -- unlike her -- I love to eat really tasty stuff (she has always been more of a "food is fuel" kind of person). As a result, I am able to cook a lot of meals that make guests say "wow!" :) (What I never admit is that sometimes the "secret ingredient" that makes dishes so smooth and flavorful is either butter or lard. Shhhh!)

My kids howl with disappointment whenever my wife offers to take a turn in the kitchen. To be fair, though, she has always cheerfully done the dishes.

I have had some experience with the jury system (through my job) and it doesn't surprise me that you were excused. I hope that they were polite about it.

You have abused our FA to the point where he quit. Answering your ceaseless demands took its toll, not that Trife ever complained. But you could see it in the way the tears welled up in the corners of his beady little eyes, and in the way that one string of drool moistened the end of his weak pimply chin. Hope you're proud of yourselves.

Well, frankly, if any of us had been paying the least bit of attention we would have put a stop to it -- if only to make sure none of the rest of us got stuck with the FA job. But now it's too late, and we are ready to exact revenge.

I do love the fact that in the U.S.A. the "baby boomer" generation (e.g. the most selfish, spoiled, and pathetic generation that this country has seen in a long while) is now busy breaking their arms patting themselves on the back in self-congratulation. But it's when they start wagging their fingers at the lack of industry in today's youth (this from the hippie, "don't trust anyone over 30" generation!) that I really want to poke someone's eye out.

I agree with Brink, Servant, and others and think that, on consideration, the results are pretty predictable -- this tends to be a "higher IQ" kind of group. What I found interesting is that, for the most part, it didn't seem like a wealthy group.

My conclusion is that "smart" does not imply money. (At least in the world we live in.)
