Another one in my family is the "Mystery Walk."

To understand this one, you have to know that my family is into scaring. We were the ones in town that was legendary for our haunted house on Halloween.

So, the mystery walk is when, post-pigout, a large group goes out for a long walk in the dark. Meanwhile, a "senior council" of family would designate someone the Mystery Walker. The walker feigns that they are staying behind to help with the cleanup (always several people actually doing this), or sleeping on the couch, or being obsessed with football, or whatever. Then they sneak out and overtake the group and find opportunities to scare them... while remaining undiscovered.

The forms of the scaring would vary depending on the terrain/whoever is hosting, but might be stuff like finding a good tree to climb and dropping stuff as they pass under, or scaring up some animals in their direction, or what have you.

There have been instances of someone being tapped to be the walker after overindulging at the buffet table and losing their massive dinner into the bushes after chasing the group around 😂

That's not bad, 12 points might be too light though. That's 2 ticks of booms, is a free govt change worth the same as 1 turn with triple production? I'd say it's worth considerably more.

This means that for a fascist, their bonus points get more bonus. In cooperation, for example, a fascist can actually achieve 100% building cost reduction, but no other government can.

I will add, regardless of what the meta is in any gaming environment with PvP, there will always be ways to exploit going off-meta. That said, I do see Resource Decay at 10x being potentially the most problematic. A techer can't afford to wait around and stack up full turns before breaking protection due to market forces but can easily get to 75% while still growing and have crazy stock at home. Having to pay the stocking cost of turns putting bushels on market is a strong balance against a techer's power currently in Express.

I don't want to put this into B&S without hearing from the express players on their thoughts.

As currently structured, the permanent bonuses from bonus points are of extremely limited utility in Express. For the most part, the play is spend on earthquakes, spend on turns if your a techer, save and spend on booms if you're not a techer.

I think it would be good for gameplay if the permanent bonuses were useful in Express. Toward this end, I think it would be a good idea to multiply all the current bonuses by 10. So building costs in this plan would be 12.5% instead of 1.25%, PM units would be 5% instead of 0.5%, etc. This would add a lot of variance to the game as far as useful strats, and could really change the risk/reward of playing out all your turns early vs. stacking up turns and spending bonus points before playing. Think of a commie breaking protection with 360(300) and 25% expenses reduction. Would that be enough to overcome the players who came out of protection early and kept up spending turns so to take advantage of the easier land from frontrunning? Would a defensive bonus of 5% change the endgame for people going into a long logout and trying to avoid end set grabs? Or would increased netting utility outweigh that functionality?

Given the turncount, and the compressed nature of the round, care must be taken to balance such an idea. a factor of 10 might be too high, it might be too strong an advantage. An FFO breaking protection with 25% building cost reduction could just be an unstoppable juggernaut, and a 5x factor could be more appropriate.

I have a huge family, literally about 4 dozen first cousins on my mom's side. We have various levels of family getting together every year, since it's tough to fit all of us together. We are mostly up and down the east coast, but some are a bit far flung.

This year, we will have 12 at our dinner table, coming from as far away as a 3 hour drive.

Since I was 13 (I am 45 now) I have made the mashed potatoes every year. My youngest sister only eats mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving - not joking - and has been really upset about it the few years I wasn't around to handle the duties.

Ya, Express is great, and yes the game was a different beast with 1000s of players.

When I first started my favorite were the "random games" that would have like 80-120 players each.

Unfortunately, for a certain % of players, the problem was "we can't say and do whatever we want on game property, and the game *we* want to play is outrage farming." There is no solution to that problem.

Spy tech buffs your 20% cashing bonus directly. So if you have 110% spy tech, a turn of cashing give 22% more revenue instead of 20%, and 120% would be 24%, and so on.

If they have an agreement to do it for each other I agree that would be for sure against the rules, but I don't think responding to your country's news feed like that is necessarily coordination.

With his 5 point outing against muh boys last week, Macklin Celebrini became the 4th teenager ever with 2 (TWO!) five point games in the NHL. The others are Gretzky, Dale Hawerchuck, and Bryan Trottier. Quite a list.

Also, Connor Bedard finally got his first NHL hat trick. His shot is freaking sick, but on the second goal in this game he displayed some stick handling and "shrug it off" ability as a puck carrier that I haven't seen much of.

It's good to see the two presumed future faces of the league starting to look like they'll be as good as advertised.

his build is impossible to be that far ahead of everyone as a rep casher. His highest tech level so far this set was in the 120s for casher techs, and now he's selling his tech off to survive. That's not achieved with skill.
