FB is safe for me, I'm probably the only baseball fan in this part of the Europe. It's the news networks that spoil it for me... Well, at least I don't know the ALCS result yet!

I tried gum, after a week or so I kinda liked them and started to chew them while smoking. Then I quit gum. I haven't tried patches but I guess it would have been the same scenario. Besides. Coffee doesn't taste the same without a cig, beer doesn't taste the same without a cig and I'll die anyway eventually, with or without cigarettes so why bother. That being said, good luck!

I thought that the idea's of "reset" was that every once in a while everyone is erhm.. reset and start on equal footing once again. You can take a break if you're bored/busy, come back next reset and start anew.

Eternal reset means that some (only one eventually) clan who started early will grow too big to be touched and will farm/kill into oblivion everyone else. They'll get bored eventually for lack of competition and quit. The new/late starters will get bored to be farmed/killed without standing the slightest chance to grow and they'll also quit. Besides, what's the goal of such a game? Who wins?

On the other hand longer resets (1 year, even 6 months long) sounds more realistic. Wars actually would have a meaning other than paying old/imagined debts. You mess with me, I destroy your game for a whole year instead just 60 days kind of meaning. Or winning TNW/ANW by killing everyone else.

You do realise that despite the bombastic title of that story he didn't actually tell all depressed people to kill themselves. You do, right? He was talking to people who do it in public. For show; either because they don't actually want to kill themselves but they're attention seekers who hope to catch the evening prime time news live, or they do want to kill themselves afterall but also want to ruin as many other lives in the process. I agree with Gene 100%, if I see someone on a building live on TV I'll too shout JUMP and let's get this over with.

I was talking about USA-Portugal tie-breaker. Before the "total goals scored" rule there's also the head-to-head rule you mentioned, irrelevant because USA and Portugal made an equal match but very important if Ghana beats Portugal. So if Ghana wins 3-2 and USA loses by no more than one goal then both have goal differences of 0, but head to head score takes precedence and USA goes to next stage. So to recap: Total points, goal difference if tied, direct match result if still tied, total goals scored, toss a coin.
