Yeah. Ugolino thought 200k land is impressive and unheard of because he trawled through previous scores sheets and didn't realize all the top countries were dropping more than 200k acres. 300k acres is nothing impressive, especially if you got it through suiciding and couldn't hold it.

Very nice grabbing, but again not "seen this before" material.

The 100m NW sol guy must have had a ton of stock. He stopped grabbing over 2 weeks ago, cashing on 120k acres that alone gives him around 100bn. The big LaF guy was in a similar spot, grabbed a bit longer but must have had huge stock. "Suicider" seems a bit crass!

Then the tiny demo, how the hell does a country like that grab so much in such a short space of time. Dude must have been owning the market.

Again, I'm a bit of a n00b as I only played back in the day when things were very different, so these numbers all look crazy ridiculous to me. Hell I barely broke 200m in the LCN reunion set having stopped grabbing at 50k because I thought that was huge. Lol.

And then all of the other supporting countries, that had no right grabbing the acreage they did. Does nobody run defence any more? Being an ex-LCN guy, It was pretty much obligatory back in the day. Has the game changed that much?

But yeah if there is something in earth history comparable to what happened here, I'd love to go back and study the news. I am a stats nerd like that :)

So, respectfully, where/when was something akin to this seen before?

Err... countries drop land at the end of the reset. Getting 300k acres from suiciding / benefiting from suiciders is not impressive. Especially when it results in you dying.

it makes no sense for LaF to encourage suiciders, especially this many. What would it help LaF? Elders isn't a netting threat and provoking Elders to war will just lead to a ruined netting set along with an unsatisfying war victory.

Lol. History lesson? I'll hear you out tho. Name 1 netting tag who joined laf because of the actions of elders. Just need 1. LCN bounced into laf at the end of last set because of neither of those tags. OMA wasn't us or SOL either. that was a product of the MD war. I'm legit trying to think of one tag. Nothing comes to mind.

The MD war would have been completely ok for OMA if it hadn't been preceded by 5 sets of (mainly) Elders, SOL and iMaggots wars.

Almost every netting tag that merged into LaF merged into LaF because of the actions of (primarily) Elders and (to a much smaller extent) SOL

Yet the master war alliance Elders that loves war so much lost 15 members as a result of that war while LaF grew and is about to win TNW and challenge for ANW, rank 1, 50% of the top 10 and maybe even total members

I'm really puzzled by Stones' decisions.

For the most part, LaF and SOL play by the traditional norms of the game. That means pacts are honored, countries are generally left alone and wars are fought for real reasons. However, Elders tried a few sets ago to change the norms by ignoring pacts, FSing netting clans for no reason and so on. This led to a struggle between LaF (and to some extent SOL) and Elders, and because Elders were willing to ignore the norms of the game, LaF ignored norms such as "no OOP FSes" and bullied clans that were suspected of helping Elders.

We all know the outcome of that. Elders basically cannot exist as a tag in this game anymore other than through hiding in other tags for most of the game. MD is gone, all that is left is a group of persistent suiciders (who btw LaF should never trust again, pretty stupid to fall for their pact breaking TWICE).

So which side does Stones pick? For some odd reason, the Elders side. This is despite the fact that, as a result of your 1.5 weeks of fun this set, you will spend the next set being killed OOP and then serving as farmland for LaF, the same that Elders did. Your tag will disappear and eventually there will not be enough tags to hide in.

After you broke a uNAP with LaF, the name of the game with you also becomes "might makes right" and you're not going to win. That's why I really wonder why you chose to essentially turn your tag into one that cannot exist on the server after this reset. Where's your goodbye post? Or do you just not understand the implication of breaking the norms of the game (that uNAP means no attacking) with LaF&SOL?
