FWIW, I think most of the developers/admins would rather spend time building stuff than dealing with drama or dealing with abuse. It's the primary reason I lost interest originally and whenever I get a bit of a mindset to come and do something, I inevitably start getting messages about that drama and roll my eyes and lose interest again.

People take bans personally like they are targeted or someone has it out for them. But almost all of the time it's just a "I don't want to deal with this fluff anymore" type situation. Either because it's bad for the game or bad for their/my ability to do things for the game. It's not worth the effort and energy to engage with it but also not something that gets to go unfettered -- like the "terror" thread that precipitated the ban being discussed here. Even this post I'm writing right now comes at the expense of me finishing up the docker image to make development possible locally. Which is a precursor for being able to do the 2025 stuff. So there's an example for you that's literally happening right now!

At this point, the people playing here have probably been adults for 2 decades or more. Can everyone just chill and try to enjoy this for what it is?

I don't see any transactions for your country or account email around the time of this post, assuming you just tried when posting.

Is the checkout process completing and saying the purchase was successful? It sounds like it's not completing from what I can tell from this thread + the data.

It'd be odd, but maybe it's a browser problem? Either way, as far as I can tell you have NOT been charged any money, which is good.

This should be fixed now -- I made sure anyone who missed credits had them correctly added to their account.

Some other accounts were credited too many credits, so I adjusted that too so it should all be accurate.

I noticed there's a problem with the payment integration where it was no longer adding credits for the last few orders.

I will manually add the credits to the impacted players and am working on a fix.

If you use a regular credit card, it runs on Stripe under the hood.

There might be a slight delay because it takes a little time for the shopping site to talk to the game, but it should be on the order of seconds. Maybe minutes at the very latest if everything is under a lot of load

I'm not aware of any changes other than the language in a long time.

If it was changed, it would be announced in a changeset.

If you're confident you were able to attack recently, maybe that was some sort of bug so please provide the info about it so we can investigate!

I PM'ed you to see if something is broken, but yes -- Patron is the "hey thanks for the 10 years of running the game!" status/forum access and Premium is the in-game benefits moving forward

Everything looks like it worked on my end as far as I can tell, but you just haven't applied the credits to your Premium time (we don't explicitly toggle it on up front so that you can choose when you want to start it)

Yea, enshula's post is correct -- also once you get credits, you'll need to apply them to your account to get the premium time :)

I feel like I coded this with the clan GDI stuff that I haven't yet released. I added a bunch of lookups that made checking for previous attacks easy.

we added some filtering to the new UI for this, but it's not fully baked yet

I'd say the ability to not declare peace after 5 PS is a bug. Maybe it'll get fixed, but the new UI should work properly to let you declare peace even after 5 ps

Yep! I appreciate the suggestion to spice things up but a feature like that is very hard to build and balance. There's a ton of other maintenance work that is taking priority in order to help maintain and grow the game/community :)

I looked into it a bit tonight -- the bots need a bit of updating to referenced updated URLs, use the new mailer I set up and to actually be turned back on, but it shouldn't be a ton of work.

Need to sync with qz quick to see if we can just change the mailer setup so I don't need to run it through SwiftMailer first -- that would cut down on the amount of work needed :D

For clarification, the "Earth" in "Earth Empires" does not refer to the dirt on the earth, but rather the whole of the earth -- including the land, water, air, space, etc.

That being said, we have no plans to add a naval element to the game.

I sort of like the idea of increasing the number of bonus acres you get as the set moves forward

Also changing the nature of that bonus as I think it's done by calendar day right now whereas I'd like to see it based on how many turns have passed so it promotes more activity.

But I haven't looked into that feature in years so I may be foggy on how it works
