Under my linked account, I cannot post, even here.

I get the message...

You cannot post at this time
Reason: Stop posting on old threads

This happens even when trying to start a new thread?

What's up with this? Am I banned for some reason? Was my last thread too politically incorrect or something?

I wonder if this one will work, or has it been caught up in the same sweep?

Don't flatter yourself, kid. I never heard anyone asking where you were. I'm sure that MD couldn't care less where you were.

I never thought much about it. It's not something that has any importance to the game, actually.

I'd Love to see the MI come back again, but it would be difficult to accomplish as most of the alliances who play here now could not coexist with an alliance that doesn't play the diplomacy game the way they want to play it, and also becomes a threat because of our landgrab/retal policies which would not be in accord with the landgrab/retal policies of the other alliances, so, sooner or later, they'd just all band together to destroy us.

The war component of the game has had nothing dont to it while netgaining has had dozens of changes. In a sense, the only real fault of the game itself is the complete lack of ingame war tracking, rankings based on war power, formalised ingame relations/war decs. For instance, MD/LCN/LAF are achieving nothing in this war. Whats the point? Orginaise a gangbang, run commies, hit basically OOP, tagkill an alliance with less than half your total members.. Now what? In MD's case they will probably disband again but for LCN/LAF it's just going to be consecutive resets where we attack each other so you wont netgain for 6 months. It's just silliness in the extreme.

The FS power is absolutely fine. It's the morons who don't try to engage in meaningful wars with no measurable outcome because they're too scared to lose that is the problem. Fix attitudes of leaders who are pussies and you fix the FS 'issue'.

Dagga. this has always been the problem with this game. It's always all about the netters, the most money, the most land, etc. It's never about the "power" of the individual players, if it was, I'd win almost every reset since I can whoop even the biggest country 1 to 1. :)

This is something that the warriors of the game just have to live with.

I don't think they were even concerned about your warfare tech at all. Most players disregard that entirely here. This is probably a legacy of alliance game play where missile retals aren't much of a concern due to heavy penalties for them by the larger alliances.

It's pathetic that it's that way, and has a tendency to reflect in the play of players here, but there's only one way to force the point and that's to missile the sucker who farms you into the dirt right away. If you have lotsa tanks, that's even better since you can then use some of his land to park them on temporarily. :)

This is an interesting thread. I'm so certain that "The spirit of the rules" will be so ignored that it's funny to even bring it up.

To what rules are we referring? In Primary, since it is not an alliance game, it has no tagging of countries, and thus no external database support, therefore it should be reasonably free from the common practices of the alliance game. If players are detected organizing kill runs in the primary game using alliance game tactics, they should be deleted summarily.

No exceptions should be made in these instances. However, if the intention of these "Rules" is to prevent a single country from destroying the netting game of another, then, that is something that should be allowed completely. If you don't want to protect yourself by having enough military on hand so that some little suicider can kick your butt, then you deserve everything that happens to you.

A lot of you folks who come over from the alliance game seem to think that you can enjoy special protection, because you had it in the alliance game by virtue of your alliance and it's pacts. You don't have that here, so get used to having the guy you used to farm in the alliance game come back to haunt you later. What goes around comes around here. You build your own Karma.

I have encountered similar results. This is seriously puzzling, but I think it probably has something to do with the game's percentages being modified in favor of defenses, probably due to all the whining of the netters that play here from the Alliance game and expect to have the same "protection" as wearing a "tag" does in the alliance game.

Don't bother trying a Demo/casher, if you're gonna be a casher, use a republic. Demo/Cashers wind up having a weak end game since some of the more militaristic people wind up look for easy land then.

Now, this is a post I can appreciate. Ivan makes a good point, if you are trying to get intel to plan a strike and you get caught, then you need to recheck your spy counts. If you try more than once and get caught, you need to take your medicine like a good little pinhead of a player, and it appears that Ivan might be able to do that for you. ROFL

Boo Hoo Hoo, Gee, I guess your netting butt decided at some point in the game that you didn't need to protect yourself from spy attacks, eh?

So, when the inevitable occurs, you run out here and cry about it. Hold on, I'll find that damned Violin yet and play "My heart bleeds purple for ya". ROFL

Would you like some cheese with that whine? Holey Moley, yet another FAT whiner makes an appearance. If you don't want to get hit up for land, don't have so much of it, or put more military on it to protect it. Leaving the whining about losing land to someone building a tougher country in the Alliance game where it belongs.

Geez, folks, Alliances have been using First Strike tactics since the beginning of the alliance game. If you are unprepared to be hit first, perhaps you need to find a better way to use diplomacy and negotiate a Non-FS treaty to go along with the UNAPs and NAPs, and other alliance pacts. I know that there is a lot of politics in the game, that's understandable. However, if you have good allies, then you're rock solid in the game, if you have poor allies, you're fooked so to speak.

Crying about the "power" of an FS is pointless. The only good way to do something about it is to be able to counterstrike effectively and in a timely fashion.

When Osama bin Laden got to the pearly gates, he was waiting his turn to enter when George Washington came out and beat the crap out of him with his cane. After that, Patrick Henry came out and kicked the crap out of him while wearing spurs. Then, Thomas Jefferson came out and punched his lights out.

While Osama was laying the bleeding and whining, an angel of the Lord appeared. Osama then confronted the angel of the Lord and asked about his 72 Virgins. The angel responded, "seriously, Osama, I told you there would be 72 Virginians waiting for you here"

Double tapping my country results in the destruction of yours until I', satisfied you have learned the lesson. I usually will not retal a single landgrab attempt, but will ALWAYS retal a double or better, usually quite effectively.

Oh, and if you're one of those FAT WEAK alliance players who have gotten too used to having lots of allies to help you, you might be in trouble here.

I'm interested in some good solid allies for the coming set. You must be able to play the game properly and I will ask some questions of you about the game to see if we share similar philosophies of game play.

I can tell you I play a dictatorship in the game, I have high levels of tech, which I make early on, and I run a very landthin country.

Any interested parties would be welcome. If you're an oldtimer from the alliance game, well, consideration will be given to you providing you're not one of the bottom feeding bunch.

I only landgrab a few times each reset, since I don't need a lot of land and when I do landgrab, I take a LARGE chunk all at once. I only strike one time, no farming by me, or permitted against me. I have been known to destroy the game of players that do farming against either myself, or my allies.

I play with some friends as in game allies all the time, the game would not be nearly so much fun without them.

I have never had a suicider come after my country at any time, but I always prepare to have to defend something like that. It makes the game a real challenge. I build a really tough country, so I don't really have to worry about more experienced players attacking me since they can figure out the numbers at least as well as I can. It's the newbies who generally will try to hit me up. I try to teach them a thing about the game then. It will only improve the game's challenge in the long run.

Dude, Grow up. You apparently were at least half the problem yourself.

My argument follows.

1. You did not apparently provide enough tanks to provide for your countries defense, otherwise, it would have been way too costly for a country half your net to successfully AB you.

2. You are probably one of those people who either does not sent a message to calm the target after your attack. I generally send a message, explaining that it's nothing personal, so keep their shirt on, and would they like to learn to play better. Yada Yada. You meet some interesting people that way.

BooHoo, if it bothers you that much, make sure you're a dictatorship with 150% weapons tech, then, you won't need to send so much to break the enemies defenses.
