One benefit of premium is you automatically get the bonus points and don't have to use the voting sites anymore.

Activated my premium today, says it's active but haven't received any bonus pts even for the bonus i did manually

It only checks for an active bonus if you log into a country the first time on a calendar day. There is a grace period built in, but if you don't vote for a few days or let premium expire for a few days you can end up missing bonus points for one day.
