Yep. It's a hell of a time right now. Trump's "there were bad people on both sides" has reached max capacity. After the budgetary hearings at the beginning of July, nothing really happens policy wise in an election year. So I usually slip off the protest shoes and slip on the knocking doors for local elections ones (not easy in a pandemic haha). Think I've only organized one and been to 2 or 3 others since then. And it was primarily protesting Trump saying his Gestapo force was coming to Philly next. Then our DA signed an order that our local police could and should arrest DHS if they attempted to detain citizens. Trump backed off and that kind of ended. And that's called effective protesting.
Either way, I've just been sitting back and trying to find districts like the 14th here that we could pick off with progressive candidates. Not centre right Democrats of course. I'm talking workers family party haha. That will primarily be my focus until January. I'm safe in a safe city. We're the only metropolitan zone in the country where over 85% of people wear masks willingly. So we're doing better than expected with that which is nice. City is as safe as possible for what's going on I figure and the protests and counter protests have mostly died out. It's pretty chill here.
