Hockey camp in full swing. 2 final fours in 3 years, same core coming back. The team needs A) Lafreniere to continue his ascent B) Zac Jones to be as good as I think he is C) Zibanejad to be good again (there's hope, his wife gave birth right before last season) D) What's-his-nuts, the free agent wing, to actually mesh with Kreider/Zibanejad.

If 3/4 of those happen they have a shot at getting over the hump.

What are your team's chances looking like this season?

New coach that wont run our goalies into the ground and play them like a true 1a/1b. I like our Free Agent pickups. Matty allegedly put on 10 lbs of muscle. For some reason we get the first game of the year, so i will be leaving work early for a 1pm game. I would be thrilled to get the 7th seed. I see the Kings regressing and us taking their spot. Not sure what other team will regress. I hope the powerplay isn't fluff this year - apparently the new assistant coach developed a good one in the AHL for Coachella.

Apparently the Demko injury situation in Van is worse than we thought. They might be due for a letdown, he's been a beast for them. They have excellent skaters too but losing a near-Vezina quality goalie is tough.

That was a heck of a first game.

Igor keeps pressure on the Rangers by posting shutouts.

The Rangers keep pressure on him in return by potting 6.

This is a good trend. I approve.

Florida still has their number. Bob played great, Igor wasn’t bad, but offensively they didn’t show up.

I'm not super excited to play the Jets tomorrow night. Rangers have looked like ass, with spectacular goaltending leading to victories. The Jets are on a serious roll, they will be a lot to handle. The Rangers need to bench lindgren, and make Zibanejad 3C, and replace Zibanejad on the power play with Lafreniere. If they do those things their underlying numbers will go back to being awesome like in the first 7-8 games.

Is Mika Zibanejad actually starting to pull his head out of his hindquarters? That'd be nice. Rangers continue to win with poor underlying numbers, but they're looking a lot better lately.

Fire Lindgren into the sun though.

Not going well. Beyond the five straight losses, they have just looked like dogfluff. Outshot in every game, out possessed, out body checked, out hustled. Bad things man, bad things.

Bro they are terrible. Zibanejad looks lost. Kreider isn't better. The kids should be getting top deployment and instead Kakko - one of the best 3-4 players on the ice all year - is a healthy scratch. What a disaster.

Coach Lav is going to sink your Rangers. He’s doing to them what he did with the Capitals, sit the youngsters and play the vets. Didn’t work in DC doubt it will work in NYC. Incidentally, your Rangers lost to the bottom dwelling Predators.

Rangers trade Kakko to Seatle for Will Borgon and some picks. That's two they've gotten rid of (Trouba and Kakko), wonder who's next?

Kakko was the wrong one to trade, unfortunately Zibanejad has a full NMC. Kreider, despite being a long time favorite, is also part of the problem at this point. He and zib drag down every winger who gets on their line with them.

Rangers placed Igor on the IR with an upper body injury. Probably hurt himself lifting his wallet. According to NHL stats his GAA 3.10, not good for the highest paid goalie in the NHL.

The Rangers have been on a heater. 17/20 possible points in their current 10 game point streak, with a couple of shutouts and a couple of blowouts in there. They are 1point back with 1 game in hand in the playoff chase - that is, back in control of their own destiny.
