Where I work have hundreds of 1000 watt metal halide lights if you don't know anything about a metal halide bulb they get HOT and at 1000+ watts they use a TON of electricity.

I'm tryin to find an alternative anyone know of anything? I thought maybe LED but couldn't find anyone that made them that big.

how big? like 1000W incandecent equivalent light? LED's always use less power
Finally did the signature thing.

LED's use less power but this is a huge plant. IDK how many square feet but like ... 2 football fields maybe? They don't make big LED lights or not atleast that I could find on the net.

You also have to be careful, as LEDs can be expensive and don't always last as long as they are supposed to.

Looking on google i was surprised that its a hot topic for marijuana growers switching from 1000w hetal halide lights to LED panels.
Not posting on AT as much because Maki/Steeps gave back some of my forums on GHQ. RIP my decade long blog, my blog even had replies from people who are no longer with us :(.

um, perhaps if you specified the amount of lumens that you need to be produced?

I would check out CFL's. I have seen 850W equivalents, perhaps that would suit your needs?

CFL
I know several people who have switched from metal halide/high pressure sodium to CFL. Lumens and spectrum can be accounted for with cfl's and the energy savings are significant.

LED's are really efficient but the same foot candle in LED doesn't look anywhere near as bright as Halogen or Fluorescent to the human eye. It's weird.

The middle ground is T5 Fluorescent lights, but they take time to warm up just like halogens, but are more efficient and very bright. That's probably your best bet.
