I came up with 3-4 bil extra cash on team last set and then the market went dry so I had to buy the only thing that hit the market- oil to finish blowing my cash. Considering the markets were completely empty for the last week I bet that’s what it was. Didn’t see any wars, I was doing kill runs on bots to run up my kills but all those countries were farmers with oil rigs and no one else did any hits except missile launches at bots so it almost had to be that.

heh yeah well in ffa the market always empties, which is why people will risk buying oil at even $1k just to make NW..

At what point is it better to buy cheap oil vs expensive turrets? Military was insane last set but I didn’t want to buy the oil because I thought it would be worse then just buying the expensive military. I ended up buying it because I had no option.

Once I bought it though and purchased my military as a theo oil mb destock I got a lot more NW than I was expecting. Is it possible that I got more bang for my buck instead of buying tanks at lets say $750?

It all depends on the cost of oil. Generally speaking, if oil is over 400$ for the set, and you arent making your own, a natural PM destock will work better. Even if oil is relatively cheap, you aren't really saving money, unless the market is empty, or extremely high priced.

I thought that but wasn’t sure if there was an exception if you are a their with 140 acres of military bases and maxed military, oil is cheap and turrets are really high.

So those guys all go an Oil Destock. where by they stockpile a ton of oil and food, and switch govts/make themselves 100% MB's to have the cheapest PM prices possible..

But there is still a hard maximum for buying oil, unless you are desperate.

As Bug said, they have the cheapest prices possible for military, however once you factor in the cost of the oil, things change. The advantage it has is reliability, and it is easier to stockpile. I think the maximum I can get with my Theo techers naturally is around 650m doing a PM destock, however if you get higher amounts of land then 70k, the oil destock works better.

so normal max theo no mb destock is ~ 223 nw/$ , oil destock/drop land/max mbs ( made not bought ) is ~ 167nw/$, so buying oil is only 'more efficient' upto ~$87/barrel- how ever the extra 5+ days of production also factors in.

yeah and sometimes its not just 5 days its actually 7-9 days to fully private destock..

I usually start at 10 days, however, you can tank the extra expenses pretty easily for the first 3 days. Crippler is pretty close, you only really get 5-6 days of extra income.
