I don't check the forums very frequently and I think most of us use Discord now a days. It would be nice to be able to get new posts/threads into Discord or other platforms in an easily digestible and pluggable manner.

This could be in the form of RSS feeds per category/forum with additional filtering that could be used to notify players of new posts in e.g. Alliance Talk while ignoring the other forums.

While I see your vision here. This could be both good and bad. Bad because people LOVE to make spam posts. :/

Hah, I could scrape the forums myself, but not sure the EE devs would like the extra load that entails :D


Could maybe add a filter to exclude certain authors or only subscribe to new threads and not posts :P

Another option could also be to post announcements in a Discord announcements type channel in EE-cord. Although I think you need to change the server to a community server for that feature to be available.

That way you could post an announcement here and then do a TLDR with a link in the Discord server, and all other clans could "follow" that channel duplicating the announcements to their Discord server(s). But then you'd miss out on any other forum and you'd have to check those manually.

Record the times you're online. Visualize it on a graph.
You don't have to login to get forum updates then pull the data once every 30secs from alliance thread for those times.

I mean is there really a difference between you long polling a rss feed vs a url? ( in terms of "extra load" )

Unless he sets up some sort of SSE or Websocket I don't see another way to avoid it.
