tourney is a short game with a slow start
by starting players with 100(0) turns, the set can get underway immeadiately, while leaving it possible for a player to begin more than a day late without suffering too much.
the 100 extra turns will obviously cause higher overall nw. less obvious is how it would affect the timing and viability of the various strats. personally, i am ok with the prospect of re- calibrating my thinking, but can see how others might disagree.
if the consensus is that the total turns needs to remain constant, then we could still start at 100(0) and end the set early by 100 turns. that would make the down period between sets longer by roughly a day and half.
