If not mistaken, currently the country name is limited to 32 chars.

I think it's already long enough.
Allowing longer name means more chars will be flooding in news room/ GHQ news/ eestats news when they attack/ getting attacked.
Prefer to keep it at 32 chars if no special reasons.

Yes, technically, they could be very large, but too long would wreck the UI.

Or maybe you could have a full name and a nickname. The nickname is limited to 32 characters and what appears in the API. The full name appears ingame (alongside the nickname).

But I can see how that would be abused to confuse people.
