something like 1a where people can buy turns? lol lets say 10 cents a turn or something to that effect? is it possible?? would it be worth putting more thought into it?? if you could remove the turn ceiling and make it so you can buy anything with actual cash i think the devs could actually find a reason to give a fluff about this game.. and i could get 7 kills by myself for fluffs and giggles for chump change :P

just a random thought

and i already know that people will hate the idea.. i get it.. its not for everyone lol.

i shouldnt have said it that way. the devs absolutely give a fluff or i wouldnt have forums to post fluff in lol. they work hard for like nothing.. would love to see a means for them to make some money, and i think a good few people would pay for turns on a server like that at least sometimes lol

maybe they could add a subscription you pay monthly and you get triple the bonus points. would keep it still fair across servers to those who don't subscribe.

almost sounds like the E2025 limited server with silver, gold, and platinum accounts. Only those who paid a small fee could play the server. The paid accounts also provided extra turns and land twice per reset.

i dunno about buying turns as it would completely throw the game balance off. For $20-30 dollars someone could buy enough turns to kill another country. Those with cash to spare would have one heck of an advantage. perhaps to make something like that work it would have to be capped at like 10 turns per day. so the max someone could get is an extra 600 turns in a reset. However this could potentially lock up the top ten to those with cash.

Yes... Exactly. Some can prove that they don't need the cash to compete. Others will spend money to net their selves into crazy digits, and others may contest with a whole tag alone on a day LOL imagine hating a clan so much you spend a hundred bucks to tag kill them LOL

Unlike limited, anyone should be allowed to play.. and it will probably be lightly populated. Would generate money for the mods for sure if it's cheap to implement... I'd enjoy it

I don't mean to trash your idea. I just grew up in an age where if you paid for a game it was only the original purchase price. Of course people willing to pay for turns and jets and missiles would do well.

I know an idiot that paid $4000 dollars on a stupid clan based game. Doesn't mean he is good at the game though. What's the point if any idiot can buy his way to the top.

Seems like the hardest part would be coding in some sort of bank to deposit to for spending on bonuses, and possibly new bonuses added, with the game itself mostly cut and paste.

Then again it would probably be best to pair this kind of idea with a mobile/facebook app, so could be a lot more complicated.

ee is hosted in a private residence. evolution and boxcar are hosted in the same residence. the only real third party cost, without counting domain registration upkeep, is the irc network which is in the same place as letskillstuff.org

it doesn't take a whole lot to pay for itself.

I'm pretty sure the domain name alone costs about the same as the money made from advertisements. Goddady likes to rip people off for .com names. Especially if they have words in them.

You get like 1$ per 1000 clicks. The only time you make $ from advertisements is from new IP addresses. Otherwise, the same IP address visiting gives close to nothing.

I would consider playing on a premium server. Though, I'll admit to being naïve enough to believe, that having to pay to play would dissuade suiciders/unsavory types... that the cost to play would be enough of an incentive to prevent some players from acting like rabid motards. Especially, if suiciding was considered a offense worthy of an outright deletion.
