SOL vs SOF is easily the greatest rivalry this game has ever seen. Fighting in a record(?) seven 1v1 battles, the ledger is currently SOL 3, SOF 3 and 1 draw.

No other two alliances can boast as many as 7 pure 1v1 battles. It equates to over a year of fighting and countless hours sitting in war rooms killing each other.

For the first part of this great rivalry, SOF completely dominated SOL. SOL did not beat SOF in a 1v1 until 2005, at which point they won the next 3 in a row. After that, SoF and Helmet practically disbanded due to the rising prevalence of multies and cheating that was not being controlled by the admins.

First blood was drawn in the battle that made Elitez legendary. Al-man dared Startiger to FS SOL, which they promptly did. SOF joined Elitez and decimated SOL. Elitez countries were basically unkillable and SOF killed about 80 countries of SOL, Camelot and Legion.

After that battle, most of the 1v1s begin!

NorCal was making comments to Helmet concerning the TAZ and m0m0 division countries having very similar names and the fact that some of them were being deleted by Mehul (TAZ I think, not m0m0). NorCal carried these comments over to AT and Helmet and SoF declared war on SOL three days later.

More than IX/SoL and IX/RAGE?
If we're only looking at Earth2025 (which I guess we are, since SoL/SoF haven't fought once yet in EE), I would look at IX as well! They had some awesome rivalries; not sure if any were fought 7-times, though :p

I'm sorry, but SoF/SoL is NOT be the best rivalry of EE, compared to the many other ones that we've seen. Nothing against SoF and SoL, but you haven't been rivals since EE existed. I don't know why this thread exists in the form it does :p

PS. this isn't meant to troll; I'm just confused why two alliances that don't fight eachother have EE's greatest rivalry.... it's like saying the US and Britain are the world's two biggest rivals since 1990 :p

Yeah, in EE, there aren't really any rivalries, unless you count PDM and LaF...

SoL vs iMag is probably the best solely EE rivalry so far on this server.
PDM/LaF have only had things get heated once (I think), so it falls in almost the same kind of boat as SoL/SoF -- lots of good stuff from E2025.
LaF and SoL are probably a better rivalry than LaF PDM or even LaF/iMag because the wars were better. But it's not the kind of apples-to-apples rivalry that creates the epic wars everyone likes. :p

SoL vs SoF is the best in all of Earth history but not the best in EE currently.

The best rivalry in EE is The Omega vs LaF vs Evo. Everyone else is just pretending.

lol my time in SOL and the countless times those damn SOFties killed my main and killed my restarts is why I hate that tag to this day lol

I'd like to state that you have to atleast win 1 war for a rivalry to begin... otherwise, its just the biggest smackdown(s) in EE history, as of now :-P

The only time I remember losing a war was when half of the server gangbanged us and IX didn't jump in to help. I remember just getting hammered.

SoL v SoF prob has the best 1 v 1 battles, and probably the most gloried. I would consider it #1 fo sure.
IX v Rage would have been the most brutal and bad blood. (climaxing with SLIT v anti-SLIT).

dl, the ix/rage stuff continued well after slit/anti slit... As I recall ix raped rage hard for like another 3 sets, then jumped paradigm, before ix/sol ditched tie, and tie/pdm went on to beat ix/sol in the face for a couple of sets.

EDIT: I remember it because I recall being MOST vocal on the Paradigm boards at the time about us NOT going to your aid and pacting out.

Towards the very end of earth:2025 it completly ceased existing, as both rage and IX ended up on the same side in the arguement about the future of the game, spurned by commonality in play styles and a love of flamey.

I call bullfluff. I'm sure there's a couple alliances who iMagNum has warred 1 v 1 7 times. They may not all exist any more, but it's happened.

Until you get to the stage where every pact, every set is based around how it can be used against IX, your not in a rivalry.

when I last played, SOL and SoF were part of the same coalition. I can't remember the two alliances fighting.

Pang, IX doesn't exist anymore so you can discount that. An 'Earth' rivalry does not have to existed solely on this incarnation of the game. If you guys sell this game and someone makes an Earth: Salvation game, it's still 'Earth'.

Also, imag are discounted because in order to have a rivalry you actually have to win sometime.

A rivalry is between two pretty evenly matched alliances and contains serious bad blood. Nothing compares to the first 7 years of SOL v SOF rivalry.

I believe the best rivalries are yet to come. I still got plenty of fight in me so as long as there is and Earth to war on i will be here to participate.

BTW just to make sure it is said....SOL is ranked too high ;)

You really think Ragnarok had any rivalries? Sure, they got killed a lot by the same alliances, but they were horrible. Rivalries are between two sides who can compete against each other.

It includes EE, just that EE rivalries have nothing on SOL v SOF when we include the totality of the game. You're just trying to get SOL/SOF to fight again to suit your evil plans to make LAF the dominant power!!! I bet LAF gets a free 3% luck bonus too!!!
