Alliance Talk is not a valid way to Agree with other clans on retal policies. Retal policies should be SIGNED and AGREED by both parts. Otherwise the standard mutually agreed past retal policies may apply on all hits.

Just saying it in here for all those who posted retal policies publicly and have the impression they will be handled as pact terms :)

AT is the place to do FA, and by posting this, you're implying that you, the head of foreign affairs for your alliance (as per your signature) have read and understood the terms of their policies, and therefore have bound your alliance to said terms ; p

AT is a place where people come and post and expect more readers than on their public page. Yes i have read their policies but no, it is not automatically an accepted / signed policy with imaginary Numbers :)

If i post here that every clan is a part of Imaginary Numbers and will NOT retal any hits that doesn't make it true and accepted, is it? :P

just to expand on what Tavi said, AT is not a valid way to alert other alliances that you are not accepting their grabbing policies based on AT threads. :p

one thing I never got is... why people always had/have to come here to contact people.. insteada just getting intouch with them via the contacts that they should already. have... I think Facebook would be a great place for FA's to meet... can see the news of people..

there used to be problems when people announced policing/wars on at then someone in leadership from an alliance posted but the alliance denied formally knowing about something until contacted

wouldnt hurt to have an ingame warning that such and such a tag claims to be at war with someone else since so and so date

or that a certain alliance claims to be policing for a tag when you go to grab them

then put a link on that page somewhere to the war report/stats thing that there has been talk about implementing, perhaps even a 'there has been no change in this war in the previous 24 hours' note to show what might be a fake war

but i can post random gibberish in here like "if anyone has some special retal policy, the way to agree on it is by direct contact with every clan :)" and that would not be an official post or stuff, it would just be chillaxing conversation as all the other threads on this forum

I don't know what Detmer's stance on AT is, but you all know this account is mine. If I post an official policy on AT and no one recognizes it, well fluff off. ICQ is no more legitimate than AT.

If America announces in a press conference a shift in policy but doesn't send memos to all the embassies in the world, does that make their policy somehow less legit? Get real and drop that dumb old earth2025 mentality.

if i talk to you and i tell you "you owe me 4000b cash, right? TAN: yes, i will pay." then it is true.

that's why we have pacts with clauses and fluff. that "old earth2025" mentality lead us to this kind of "organized" place we have now with pacts and stuff.

this was a friendly reminder or even "prediction" that if you come to me sometime this set and tell me "hey i'm hitting you as per our police posted on AT" i will respond "no you won't".

and NO, this is not directed at PDM.

Tavi it's not any clans responsibility to contact you and alert you of their policy, if you're not pacted to the alliance.

If you're an unpacted alliance you will be subject to whatever their policy is and it is your responsibility to look it up if you attack them or face the consequences of their policy, not yours. Additionally if they attack you and feel your policy isn't justified when you retal then there may be a dispute and whoever enforces their policy will win.

Easy as that. Not to mention your "friendly reminder" doesn't apply, you should ICQ everyone this friendly reminder because AT isn't appropriate? Right.

However back when I did "FA" for sof any attempts to do so would result in a serious mocking:)

an Akula, yea, unsigned retal policies enforced by each clan mostly end up with wars :)

was just trying to tell the posters how to actually agree with other clans on their policy. that way they would have be sure their policy would be agreed if incidents happen and wars won't start because of it.
