Going there end of next month and wanted to know what you all use there as far as bait.

Bring a small cast net, you can catch your own bait right there, that's what most Florida anglers use. I lived there until a couple of years ago.

what species are you angling for?

and are you wanting to use artificial or live bait?

If he's fishing in Okeechobee, he's fishing for largemouth bass. If you want to use live bait try to get some fairly large golden shiners. If you're in that area, you might ought to head over to Loxahatchie river to fish, its one of the prettiest small rivers in America and the fishing is outstanding, google it. Also google 'balloon shiner fishing', its really fun if the wind cooperates - have fun!

when i fish it i fish for the bluegills and I use crickets and grass shrimp.the grass shrimp i catch in grass around the edge using a long handled fine mesh minnow net.when I fish for bass with artificials i find the culprit 6" or 7" moccasin worm to be awesome.if you are wanting to target crappie minnows or beetle spins work best for me and the shellcrackers like worms.

I fish for crappie all the time here, but I want to fish for large mouth. Really, I will be fishing for anything that wants to jump on my hook.

Ontario manitoba Quebec and the Atlantic provinces we have amazing fishing. People from Michigan come to fish northern Ontario.

I know small mouth are everywhere. I was getting more at monster sizes are mainly on warmer weather areas. I could be way off base tho

Then only way to have an apples to apples comparison is to evaluate the same species of fish, Alaskan Salmon is pretty big, and the catfish in the Amazon are quite large 🤷
