Is there any real value in joining GDI in Primary? I'm already losing a lot of money per turn.

It just means that countries more than double your NW would have to declare war in order to attack you. Likewise you can not attack a country less than half your NW without declaring war. Helps when big countries are looking to bottomfeed you won't likely be their target.

there's no declaring war option in primary. There's only the 1/4 humanitarian rule which is irritating. I'm running out of targets to hit.

GDI only stops folks from doing harmful attacks on you unless you attack them more than once. If you're going to double/triple/quad tap folks like some of the top guys are doing, then GDI is not worth it.

its just not worth it.

They might not have it when you attack, but a double tap could motivate them to start stocking missiles for a future retal, especially if you are in the top 10.

Just imagine a big country that has doule/triple/quad tapped people all set long. And then tey decide to connive and get you bad in the final week. That would be a sight to behold. I remember a country from last set with about 60 missiles. I don't care how much SDI you think you have, if afew of such countries ganged up on you, your set is over.

ie: if you hit a country 3 days in.. and again 3 weeks later, is that still a double tap?

lol, I can barely remember what I was doing 10 minutes ago, let alone who I grabbed on this server a week + back heh

and switch to D, you need a ton of SDI to get even to 80% protection (750k for a non-D country of 50k acres). I don't fancy spending a billion on tech, when you could get 5 times the NW gain spending it elsewhere.

it covers the whole set unfortunately. Attacking 5 times every 20hrs for 30 days straight, i find it hard not to overlap. All you need to do is stay over 4 times their networth and you're good!

My point was it costs a ton to buy SDI, and even at high percentages missiles still get through. The cost of not double tapping may be less than that. But ya, if you've already committed several double taps or have not joined GDI, then getting SDI is essential.

I know in express you can't join GDI if you've attacked, i think it's the same in primary, which would be kinda lame.

Speaking of double taps, I cannot believe that #1 ranked non GDI Republic hasn't been suicided yet for his multiple quad taps all over the board. Let's see how long he can keep it up for. lol

most of those countries are too small to hit him back now that his NW is so high, thanks to those humanitarians. Though without GDI he certainly will make a tempting target for random missiles.

It may get harder to remain 4x their size as time goes on. Or it may get easier, not really sure

Some countries are begging to be double tapped. I can tell they want me to double tap them because they have not only low defense but also no def allies. I try to 1x everyone else, but I don't have the heart to say no to these poor needy guys.

Thats correct. If someone overretals you, then you are given access to AB & harmful spy ops. At a minimum you should buy more tanks than they can get & sabotage all their missiles, if you plan on hitting them a 2nd time. You also might want to PS them and then AB them.
