That's because everyone made a techer last set.

Has anyone ever done the #s as to if tech is worth buying at 4k? Particularly in beginning.

The earlier you buy it the more it's worth, Obvi. Depends more on strat as to the "is it worth price X at turn Y."

It doesn't matter if it's "worth it." You can just wait 24 hours and buy tech for cheaper at the same turn, so it will never make sense even if it were "worth it."

There has to be a disadvantage to waiting...

I mean if waiting is best advantage, then why not store up 720 turns and buy tech then?

Wouldn't you miss out on 1 days worth of LG'ing? Since PS has a 2hr cooldown.

It would be more fun if there was some tech early on. Expensive tech makes everyone delay their start. I remember when there was usually some tech to be had around $2000 during the first two days but not any more for months.

I don't think I've ever seen the tech market this dry before... Of course it goes dry the one time I don't play techer....

Executed a tech start. Sold 0 tech. All mine!

I do think it's because there were too many techers last set, so this set there are too few. Oil is tasty atm though :)

Erroneous. Market conditions change constantly. If an indy wants to sell his military at the highest price, he has to play early. If he is running turns, he needs tech. Sure the tech is cheaper later... but so is the military, and the single biggest advantage the c/i has is its quick start.

Same thing for techers. Selling earlier means selling for more.

If you want to argue that farmers and casher should wait for the market to drop (and food to go up) to run turns that's an argument I could listen to, but there is more to the game environment than just turns.

Long word blid. Moving your lips as you read it might help.

I suppose an advantage a casher has is that it doesn't matter when they play their turns, the return is unaffected by market conditions. And, with turns in hand, they can immediately generate the cash needed to take advantage of opportunities the market may afford.

everything he said is based on something he made up, abuot military prices dropping sharply if you wait for affordable tech. i don't know where someone would even get that idea. click turrets and see if that's true: http://www.eestats.com/express/market

check past resets. etc.

if tech is too expensive, wait and buy it later. hold some turns. who care
common sense

Oh yeah, you're right, I have no idea what I'm talking about and there aren't any downsides at all to running 300 turns at once as a commie versus 50 here and 60 there.

Seeing all these casher banking over 5m a turn tech needs to jump to about 4k a pop to keep up.

I never excelled at a commie/indy, usually because I am bare on tech and can't gain land, hold food and buy tech fast enough to keep up.

Oil does seem to be holding high.... :(

When you're a commie you have to get a little bit of tech in the early going before you are hemmorhagin cash every turn. Even a little bit makes a difference long term. If you can make it you have to skip some grabbing to do lower cost growth, like exploring, and have a "get tech" day, or just blow a whole sale's income on tech and save turns. Both are risky, so get tech ASAP. It has a snowball effect.

What Bus/Res rate should a casher having a good set expect to be on at this stage Xin? At the tech prices that have prevailed.
