Didn't you just farm PANLV? Or was that someone else who was an untagged who named some of their countries Mailboxia? Kind of an odd coincedence with your name, you not having a home, and the country name of an untagged that went on a farming spree just now.

Nearly all, if not all, of the countries here were involved in the kill run on #1582 earlier this set, a killrun by these untaggeds against ESD.

These countries are clearly run by only a couple of people and are suiciding on netting alliances.

I just verified that every single one of the untaggeds I posted here did indeed participate in the kill run against #1582

Somehow it doesn't bother ESD that an untagged kills one of their countries, and it doesn't bother the netting alliances that one player hiding as untagged goes on a massive farming spree and netters just try to do 1:1 retals, rather than kill him off for excessive grabbing.

This is why I shouldn't be considered a netter. Unlike the pansy netting alliances, if someone pulls crap like this against me, they die.

Note: countries #820 and #821 are named mailboxia and mailboxib

We'll talk to the guy and investigate it and if the guy has been going on a massive farming spree, he can either do whatever is necessary to make it right or he'll be released back out into the untagged wilderness with a target on his back.

And if it's not him, then we'll be happy to welcome a new member.

Even though we're pretty lazy though, don't think we condone massive farming sprees and don't think we'll just stand back and not do anything. As one of the strongest netting tags in FFA, we'll do what we have to in order to maintain that.

After talking with TKO, I think its possible that these countries are being played by Paulie. The extremely long killrun on 1582, the setup of the countries as seen from spy ops, the use of SS rather than PS, the numerous bounced attacks, those were all characteristic of Paulie. I'm definitely not discounting the possibility that the suicider was someone other than Paulie, but the similiarities are intriguing.

I apologize to shootingmailbox for hijacking his thread (assuming he's not the suicider, which still needs to be verified). He had the bad luck to have a display name similar to some country names of someone suiciding on the alliance he wants to join.

In fairness, it's only been 4 hours since he first posted. If he's not a silly full-timer like most of us that apparently check this board way too damn often, then he might not even know there's this much controversy.

Let's all remember that while most of us are the same fools that have been playing this game for 5 or 10+ years, there are occasionally new players. If this guy is a new player and simply doesn't know what he's doing, he deserves a chance to learn and improve instead of all the big clans turning their backs on new blood simply because he screwed up, making grabs that most of the big clans would consider unacceptable.

If this guy is the guy doing all the grabs and we're convinced he's doing it out of ignorance and that he'll change his ways with some greater knowledge of the politics of the game, then we'll accept him. Anything that happens to his countries between now and the time he tags up is not any of our business. Anything that happens after he tags up is our business, but as hopefully anyone who has dealt with us in the last several sets knows, we'll do whatever we can to make sure amends are made for any of his previous transgressions. We're not taking someone into our tag to protect them from proper retaliation, and we're not going to purposefully take into our ranks someone who is simply suiciding and trying to find a place to try to hide.

Interestingly, he posts this right after TKO finishes killing one of the countries mentioned earlier in this thread, a country which was online when it died.

Losing a country or two is something you can 'move on' from
losing multiple countries every day isn't exactly what I would call "just repercussions"

Ultimately, this game is a clan game, which means if you're playing by yourself and you try to beat up on clans, there are a lot more of them that can beat you down simply because they have that ability.

If you grab them once, they'll simply retal.
If you grab them a few times, as long as they're spread out among your countries and theirs, they'll simply retal.
If you double and triple-hit them, they'll retal a lot.
If you hit them 83 times, even if it's spread out among your 16 countries, they'll kill you.

Think of how you'd feel if you logged in and saw even 1 hit on each of your 16 countries and they're all coming from the same tag. Wouldn't you be a bit perturbed?

ESD killed off a few of yours and let your others live because they were actually being nicer than most clans would. PAN probably would've killed all of yours off. TKO talks like they intend to kill your others off. War clans like NBK, CC or IMP would actually be thankful to have targets to dispose of and would kill you off very quickly.

You can landgrab, but spread your hits out. The problem is that this game has shrunk since Mehul basically neglected it and sold it off. If you played 10 years ago, you might have been able to get away with more aggressive grabbing because there were more players playing massive numbers of illegal countries. You could usually grab a clan 10-12 times and as long as you hit the countries they didn't really care about, you'd probably only even get retalled on half of them.

Everyone plays legal now, and there are fewer players. If you're going to landgrab, you have to be somewhat careful about spreading out your hits so you're not hitting people in a way that's going to piss them off.
