Pang, that may well be US policy. And to a large extent i do agree with most of your last post. However, my point is that to think you can hoard oil when the rest of the world run out is wrong. There would and will be massive war before that happens. Just as Japan hit the US in WW2. It was about the US turning off their oil supply. Every nation (worth talking about) has strategic reserves. Before those run out they will do what they have to to get more. Or go down trying.
Now you can see why i think we are crazy for paying such high prices to the mid east. We could starve them, destroy them, or simply take the oil from them. I'm not really for those but i am for using political pressure to lower those prices. I know it can be done. There is no reason to give such large amounts of our nations wealth, not to mention damaging our economy, to them.
